Gin with a view

Mr Yilmaz, your bar has instantly become a hotspot in the city.
After opening, we were the talk of the town. We became the place to be in no time. That's because of our style, the view over the medieval city, our creative drinks. I've been following bar trends in Nuremberg for years. Every major German city had a bar with a view, but not Nuremberg. 

The view from the 14th floor over the old town must be magical!
Until now, you had to walk up to the Kaiserburg for such a breathtaking view of the city. That was very strenuous. From our terrace you certainly have the most beautiful sunset view in the city - with your favourite drink in your hand.

Do many locals also come by?
We have regulars who visit us at least three times a week. It's also very pleasing that neighbouring hotels recommend our "Cloud One Bar" to their guests.

What do your guests prefer to drink?
We are known for our gin recommendations, but we are always trying out new drinks to offer new taste experiences. At sunset, people like to have a glass of sparkling wine or Prosecco Aperol. Later, the guests switch to cocktails and long drinks. Currently, the "Gin Basil Smash" is very popular.

Can you tell us the recipe?

Gin Basil Smash:

• 5 cl Tanquerray No.10, 3 cl lemon juice, 2 cl cane sugar syrup, 10-15 basil leaves.
• Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice in a shaker and double strain into a glass with ice cubes.
• Garnish with lemon zest and a basil leaf.
