I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Motel One. It is the most reasonably priced hotel/motel I've ever experienced. The rooms are basic but well kept and clean. The breakfast was great, and the atmosphere and staff were amazing!
We were a group of 6 people and had a wonderful stay at Motel One Zürich. Everything was very good, from the cleanliness of the hotel to the comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The location was excellent and very convenient for exploring Zürich. The hotel was quiet and well maintained; we felt very comfortable during our stay. We were very happy with our experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
When I checked in, the front desk attendant was cold, not friendly, and not welcoming. I think her name was Sophia. She was actually very rude. She said she didn’t have any rooms available. Then suddenly she did and she put me in room 150…first floor way in back of hotel. I asked for a room on higher floor and she said no. Then she gives me room key and that was it. No thank you, enjoy your stay, or directions to the lift or where my room was. She was downright rude. Them later that day my friends and I went to the hotel bar for a cocktail. The 2 women behind the bar were chatting with each other and it took several minutes before they acknowledged us and took our order. Neither checked on how are drink was, if we needed anything else, or paid any attention to us. I had to call her and flag her down when another friend joined us. Worst service I’ve ever experienced during my trip or ever at a bar. We left after 1 night and headed for our next destination. We considered staying at Motel one in Cologne but I refused to after my experience in Zurich. Overall very disappointed in my experience with your property because of the poor service. I will search for other properties for future stays.
considering the price I would have expected to have at least a bottle of water and a glass in the room.
Thanks for the nice and clean room during our stay, we liked the hotel overall . only small few comments that may be important for most travelers .. would be good to have a small kettle in room for hot water use and small refrigerator would be handy, also a small bin-trash with a lead in bathroom would be more hygienic. Otherwise all other things were good . Room size / comfort / cleanliness were all good, Lounge area is peaceful and smart for working people and also for relaxing.. Personnel were very helpful and friendly . We had a good stay in your hotel and would choose again if we travel again. Also being in very good location was plus for us to travel with ease. have a good day !
Great location, clean, and adequate, but poor room lighting, a lack of basic equipment, such as a desk, and an overwhelming feeling that one is staying in an accommodation factory makes the hotel seem relatively poor value.
In general a good experience. Staff friendly, hotel very clean, breakfast is very standard probably better value for money eating out. Mattress was a bit too firm for me but I know you cant please everyone. I dont mind an accessible bathroom too much but I think there should be a choice to have one or not, and/or to be informed beforehand. Ive been in too many hospitals and you feel a bit like you are in a ward than in a hotel room. The biggest gripe with the bathroom is the basin - I shave every morning and the hand basin is tiny and did not have a plug.
The room is very minimally equipped, and the breakfast area feels significantly overcrowded with a rather limited selection. In other cities, a similar price point typically comes with a noticeably higher level of service, so the offering here feels comparatively basic. The staff are nice, attentive, and consistently contribute to a more pleasant stay.

Room was clean and comfortable with toilet equipped for handicapped guest. Thank you wadie for helping me register and making the booking on short notice even at almost midnight. You really saved me by answer the call otherwise I have to sleep on the street!
on my second morning, there was no warm water in the shower. When I brought this up during checkout, I was only told that they would look into it. no compensation offered.
I wanted to check in at 2pm, knowing that it is only at 3pm but I had business meetings to attend. the receptionist told me there is no room available. while I was waiting for my room, at least 5 other people got a room while she saw me waiting next to the reception. when I went to another receptionist 15 minutes later, she gave me a room right away. the second receptionist was very nice.

Stylish, clean & functional. 2nd stay. Not sure why they are unable to provide irons. Would have preferred a wider selection at breakfast. However, the hotel served me well, and I would return again.
Comfortable hotel within walking distance of the old town and various points of interest in Zurich, as well as Lake Zurich. It would have been good if there were 2 chairs provided for the double rooms. The rooms were very clean and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The reception staff were friendly and helpful in providing information.
Best value & quality in Zurich! Clean, well-designed, and just right. Bedding and pillows were great. Also... quiet!! I could hear a light rumble from the nearby tram but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, interrupted my sleep. Climate control was simple, and also quiet. The soaps in the shower and sink were also a very good quality. The location was fantastic for exploring the city too. We would walk across a couple districts without realizing it. Stations nearby for trams and train to the airport, and easy to get to Zurich HB for trains to other cities.
Always a pleasure staying at a motel one.
Nice and friendly staff and clean rooms
This was my second stay at this location and it was just as pleasant as the first! My husband and I were celebrating out 30th wedding anniversary this time around and we stayed for nearly two weeks. The staff quickly became our Motel One Family! We were consistently greeted with welcoming, heartfelt smiles from Huseyin, Jeremy, Erwin, Zianis, Matthias, and Max. They were quick to answer our questions, were accommodating, and provided assistance without blinking an eye. We frequented the 24-hour bar almost nightly and the staff were top notch! They did not treat us as guests rather, they welcomed us as their own. The affectionate conversations with Anastasia, Shanelle, Monica, Leonardo, Lorenzo, and Pascal felt as if we were enjoying our cocktails with life-long friends. Each one was passionate about providing quality drinks; ensuring our satisfaction. This crew will forever hold an unforgettable, special place in our hearts. Last but not least, Jeffery. Our morning breakfast greeter was always smiling and ready to help us start our vigorous day with his enthusiasm. We are unbelievably grateful for the pleasant and caring staff at the Zurich location. We wanted our 30th celebration to be memorable and our "family" at Motel One Zurich certainly did that.

Very comfortable and clean. Overall rating is excellent. The only thing that disturbs me is that one: I've been in Motel One a lot of times during the last years. Every time I come with my reservation with the same name (of course mine) the employees at the reception ALWAYS ask me (after having seen my name) if this is the first time for me at Motel One... I would like to receive a warm welcome like "happy to see you again here" instead. I can understand that this is a big place, but I don't feel, even if the reservation is made through third parties and not directly by me, to be treated as a valuable and usual guest.
Our stay was very good except for one encounter with a staff member at the front desk. I asked how to work the deadbolt (extra lock) on the door and was told ‘we don’t have extra locks in Europe’ and that no one but house keeping had a master key. I told him that the afternoon before 2 men keyed into my room and immediately headed to the elevator when they saw me. He didn’t take me seriously and just dismissed my concern. Perhaps I should have talked to a manager, but instead, every night I used a table to block the door. So there are 2 problems (1) if you really don’t have safety locks on your doors, that is a real problem of safety for your guests (2) no guest wants to be ignored and dismissed when they feel their safety is compromised.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially when I first arrived extremely jetlagged.
The air conditioning did not work well and the room was very stuffy. We requested a fan but had to request it for a second time before having one brought to the room.

We enjoyed our time at MotelOne—the staff was friendly and helpful. I also note they were clear at reception that the concept is business budget. The breakfast was great and the common areas accommodated working and socializing well. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and our only complaint was that they are a bit too sparse—a place, besides the floor, to rest a suitcase, a glass for water, and some shampoo and conditioner doesn't seem too much to expect. All in all, however, we would recommend the hotel to others and we would stay there again.
Rooms basic but nice. Bed comfortable. Lack of fridge an issue especially with high temperatures. Carpet a bit shabby but bathroom clean. Handy use of steamer from reception. Nice bar and courtyard. Excellent location within walking distance of everywhere I needed to go.

Comfortable and clean. It would have been nice to have tea facilities in the room but it was fine for a short stay. The hotel bar is very nice.

The only thing I really missed is a little refrigerator inside the room.
Great location, spacious room. Room did get warm during the night and too much outside noise to open windows. Noise not an issue with windows closed.
Room 0.09 was really not pleasant. Just next to the breakfast area and on the outside where people are having a drink.
Motel One Zurich was very modern, pleasant and an easy walk from train station. Breakfast was very good and staff was very helpful with recommendations and directions. The staff agreed to let us use small place in their cooler since mini fridges are not provided in room. Only improvement would be to have coffee in rooms and a mini fridge. This is a great value hotel and we would stay here again.

Voor mijn vrouw en ik was er een 1 persoons dekbed en 1 handdoek. Met een telefoon naar de receptie werd het direct opgelost.
Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Kamer heeft alle faciliteiten, maar is aan de kleine kant.

motel one Zurich is aan de buitenzijde slecht herkenbaar als een motel one vestiging. Verder is niet duidelijk dat er aan de achterkant van het gebouw d ingang bevindt tbv bezoekers die met auto komen of gehandicapt zijn of koffers hebben. . Bij de hoofdingang van motel one Zuriich is alleen een trap met 8 treden beschikbaar, onandiig om daar als gehandicapte of bezoekt met grote koffers de trap te moeten nemen. Geen enkel bordje hangt er met info over bereikbaarheid vn gebouw. Binnenzijde motel one is de lobby/zit gedeelte links niet echt passend bij de motel one styling. het lijkt daar wel en ander hotel. Begroeting en service door de aanwezige hotelmedewerker bij de balie was niet allervriendelijkst, dat viel ons meteen op. Dirigerende toon en wilde direct de namen en paspoorten zien zonder een vriendelijke begroeting, Dat hebben we gelukkig in Munchen en Wenen wel beter meegemaakt die reis. Mogelijk komt het door directe Zwitserse aard maar klantvriendelijk is het absoluut niet. Verder viel op dat bij het ontbijt de staf en manager klanten niet aanspraken op asociaal gedrag zoals het opladen van meer dan 12 chocoladebroodjes op een bord voor een tafel van 5 personen. Die bordjes verdwenen daarna voor ene groot deel in de tas van de Duitse familie. schandalig gedrag waar niets van gezegd werd evenals geproduceerde herrie vanuit iPhones van ouders om kinderen te vermalen met muziek en spelletjes tijdens het ontbijt. De kamer was echter mooi en ruim uitgevoerd. Voor ons blijft het bij dit eenmalige bezoek van motel one in Zurich.
Lokatie was top, personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de kamer was uitstekend. Schoon, ruim en een fijne inrichting. Dus een zeer fijn verblijf.
Het is geen 10 want het ontbijt kan nog net iets beter door het ontbijt iets te upgraden (met scrambled egg, spek, etc.). Ontbijt is vefgeleken met de rest van de entourage, bar, lounge, kamers net iets te eenvoudig.
Welkom in het Motel One van Zürich! Hier draait alles om de bergen, chocolade en de Zürichsee.
Als je de lobby binnenstapt, waan jij je in de Zwitserse Alpen door de gordijnen met hun schilderachtige silhouetten die zijn ontworpen door de Zwitserse firma Christian Fischbacher. In onze One Lounge word je tijdens het gezonde ontbijt vergezeld van sfeervolle foto's van de nabijgelegen Zürichsee, zoals een origineel Boesch-bootmodel. Zo krijg je meteen zin om een dagje aan het meer door te brengen. Onze bar daarentegen staat helemaal in het teken van de absolute topper onder de Zwitserse exportproducten... Hier draait namelijk alles om chocolade: aan het plafond hangen chocoladedruppels en boven de bar blinkt het gouden chocoladepapier. Dan krijg je toch gewoon zin om de verrukkelijke chocolade te proeven, niet?
Ons designhotel in Zürich bevindt zich in de binnenstad, in de buurt van de Oude Botanische Tuin aan de Schanzengraben. De Paradeplatz en de Bahnhofstrasse, de kathedraal Grossmünster en andere bezienswaardigheden in het centrum liggen op wandelafstand. Ook het centraal station ligt dichtbij en de Zürichsee is maar even wandelen.
