Really happy, thanks to the great staff. I was given a room on a higher floor upon request and I appreciate the polite, competent and proactive help. Also, the breakfast is impressive, especially the perfect eggs.
I made a booking online directly with the hotel and arrived after midnight. My booking was canceled by the hotel without telling me. Luckily the gentleman at the reception was able to bike me again but the price was higher and no breakfast included so I had to pay more than my original booking.

Overall good, however the last night was incredible, unpleasantly noisy due to an electronic music party in the student campus bordering the hotel.
I booked two rooms for 4 nights yet the person at the reception named Anas just gave me ONE bottle of water. I had to beg for a second considering I had two rooms. Furthermore as member of Motel One I got a breakfast voucher for which I thank you but then what is tis gift worth if the validity term is just three months....!
No light in my room. No other room available, had to wait 1 hour extra at check in.

Excellent service in general, very friendly staff. Very good breakfast! Not so happy though about having to wait in the middle of my check in, due to another guest being vocal about some problem and the person checking me in left to help her colleague. She should have finalised my check-in first, then helped her colleague, but I guess she got stressed/annoyed by the other guest, so … Also, the very large and obvious spiderweb between a ceiling lamp and the wall didn’t help the impression of cleanliness. In general, the hotel felt a bit lacking in being cleaned well. Regarding my choice to “not recommend” this hotel is not due to the hotel at all. I would recommend it, but I would warn about Steindamm and not to go further than the police station, due to all addicts, junkies, drunks and a lot of shady people on the lower part of the street. It’s not a street you want to be at walking in the evening when it’s dark outside. Apart from that, the location is nice with the park area outside. If you take a taxi to and from the hotel and don’t plan to leave it, then no problem.

Hotel is good. But it is expected to keep some kettle to heat the drinking water and water bottles in the room. That is minimum requirement to provide.
Location great, very clean, stylish, modern, what I would expect from a Motel1 property. I was asked at checkin if I needed the room serviced during my 2 night stay, and I said no. I was then told to ask them if I need anything. I was given a bottle of still water on the first night, and I assumed that I would be allowed one for the second night. I asked the next day but the same receptionist told me "you only get one" after previously having said to ask at reception if I need anything. I also think it would have been a nice gesture to allow me the water seeing as I did decline the offer of room service and thus allowing the staff more time to do other things. On the other hand when I asked if I could buy a coffee the breakfast attendant told me I could just grab one for free, which was appreciated. So it just felt a bit inconsistent around little things like this. Additionally, a small chiller for drinks in the room would have been nice.

I always try to book Motel One where available as it provides a consistently good experience. I know exactly what I get and have not once been disappointed (I have been at Motel One in Brussels, Manchester, Vienna, and most branches in Berlin).
Metro line 1, which takes you right to the center of town and also to the Elbphilharmonie is right in front of the hotel. The Alster is a 10 minutes walk away as is the transportation hub "Berliner Tor", so location is excellent to get around the city. The area itself is not particularly nice even though I did nor feel unsafe. Personnel at the front desk is exceptionally friendly and helpful. For the rest it is a no frills anonymous hotel but you have everything you really need at a very affordable price. Ideal for a short stay.
Everything was clean. Everybody was friendly. It was fine. Especially the bar guys in the evening are amazing. Also reception was very friendly and wanted to help. Some seem to be a little bit confused and couldn´t book the room correctly. But her colleague was able to help. The room is very small but ok. Some normal standard, especially in this price range, was missing. - Mini bar/cooler - Glasses - Cups for coffee - Watermaker - the paper cups in the bathroom are not nice for this level of hotel - wardrobe to put clothes properly, it is a mess when you stay for 5 days
Nice room on high floor as requested, thank you. But this Motel One is looking a bit tired and needs a refresh. No safe in the room, not even a folding stand to open a suitcase on. Didn't feel like great value for money compared to Dresden Z or Leipzig N.

Everything ran very smoothly from check in to check out. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when I left my backpack in the lobby on departure and only realised this on my way to the airport. I returned to the hotel to find that my backpack had been placed safely in a room behind the reception area.

This hotel is very centrally located near the metro and the main station. The lobby is very clean and well maintained. Although the rooms are small, but they are adequate and have sufficient equipment for a short overnight stay. The bar and reception are staffed non-stop. The prices in this class are appropriate for the quality. Unfortunately there is no safe in the room. I will be prefer more snacks on offer in hotel bar. The luggage storage ist plus. Very kindly staff, especially very helpful receptionist Martin. Anyway I will recommend this hotel.
We have rarely received such a friendly welcome in a hotel and were able to check in and move into our room shortly after 12 noon, which was great. The hotel makes a very good impression overall. The room was small but nice, had everything it needed and was very clean and quiet. The bathroom was also clean and odourless. The bed was very comfortable, we slept really well. We would come back again.

The Hotel is well, but not perfectly located. Amenities are in a 10 min walking distance. The poor lady at the bar had to deal with several customers by herself - a colleague would have made the experience and her work load much easier and better. Otherwise: Check in/out, cleanliness and comfort were perfect, as expected. Ad breakfast: I think there should be a smaller charge for people like me who do not eat much, by have a coffee and a yoghurt max. As an adult one has no purpose to cheat and also avoids food waste. Thanks.

Super location! Near public transport and also to nice spots in Hamburg. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very quiet. Couldn't hear neighbours or the outside. Amenities were enough for a short stay. Room was a bit small. Maybe better placement of furniture could make the room feel more spacious than it is.

Friendly staff, good location, nice breakfast. The rooms are tiny and very basic though. Other Motel Ones I stayed in had much bigger rooms. Considering the size of the room, I found it rather pricy. Ok for a weekend trip to the city, wouldn't recommend it for longer periods or to persons with claustrophobia :)

Buena ubicacion con parada de metro en la misma puerta. Personal muy amable en especial Fidel Guevara que nos hizo el Check-in en recepcion y se agracede que nos atendiera en español. Buena limpieza y cama comoda. El deayuno muy completo y de calidad. Un hotel muy acogedor. Muy recomendable.
Las camas no son muy cómodas y el desayuno escaso para el precio que se paga y el sitio del desayuno muy estresante porque no hay espacio para todos los huéspedes
TRATE CON 4 DIFERENTES EMPLEADOS DE LA RECEPCION Y TODOS LOS 4 ME ATENDIERON PRONTO, MUY AMABLES Y EXCELENTEMENTE. LOS FELICITO POR TAN BUEN PERSONAL. LO UNICO QUE NO ME GUSTO ES QUE ME TOCO UN CUARTO SIN CAJA DE SEGURIDAD. PIENSO QUE UN NOCHERO O BURO EN LA RECAMARA AYUDARIA. En nuestro hotel económico de diseño, en el barrio de moda de St. Georg, todo gira entorno al lago Alster que se encuentra en las inmediaciones. El Binnenalster y el Außenalster no solo ofrecen mucha diversión y relajación a quienes les gusta navegar en velero, piragüistas y remeros, sino que también invita a pasear para ver las villas de estilo Jugendstil y relajarse en los parques de alrededor. Sin embargo, en nuestra recepción va a conocer el lado invernal de Hamburgo. Una fiesta popular celebrada en el Alster, un año en el que se congeló, muestra que en la ciudad hanseática el frío puede arrasar. Láminas de nogal en el techo del bar hacen de símil de las suaves olas del Alster y accesorios como veleros, luces de ferrys o gorras de marino le dan el toque final al concepto marítimo del diseño de nuestro hotel.
En el Motel One Hamburgo-Alster podrá alojarse en una de las zonas residenciales más populares de la ciudad. Elegantes cafés con terraza, boutiques y sin olvidar la orilla del afluente del Elba invitan a darse un agradable paseo.
El hotel está ubicado en el centro lo que le permite estar al lado de todos los lugares emblemáticios de la ciudad. Así, en tan solo unos minutos a pie, llegará a la Mönckebergstraße, una de las principales calles para ir de compras de la ciudad hanseática. La estación de metro y de cercanías Berliner Tor y la estación de metro de Lohmühlenstraße le dan acceso a la red pública de transporte de cercanías directamente delante del hotel. Cuando llegue o salga de viaje con el tren, sabrá apreciar que la estación central de Hamburgo esté a tan solo unos cientos de metros del hotel.
