great loction and great staff very helpful
Clean rooms, efficient staff. Breakfast was terrible. Far too many people for such a small space meant they some people were eating standing up. Lines for the buffet were crazy long and blocking the walkways. Nobody checked if you payed for breakfast or not. Will not be staying again.

Breakfast it self was okay. The organization of the breakfast room was a disaster. Tables not cleared, not enough tables for the number of guests, some guests use the area for “morning meetings“ and thus block tables.Never experienced this in another Motel One Hotel. Simple solution: Management should be present and organize the process!
Nice location - right near the Neumarkt (including Christmas market). Kind employees at the frontdesk that were helpful when we wanted to store our bags, as we were too early to collect the roomkey. Online checkin in advance is also very easy, you do need to have both yours & your partners details but, once you have that, it saves you a lot of time at the front desk. The hotel was nicely decorated in the Christmas atmostphere. The bed is one of the best one I have slept in, comparing to other hotels - this is the main reason I like to stay in Motel One in different countries as the mattress seems to be similar in all 3 locations I have been now - big plus. The hotel bar seems to be open 24hr - and was very busy still on a Monday evening - you forget about it being soo late. I feel the 12/noon check out time is also late compared to other hotels, but very welcome if you need the time. So another benefit/plus to our stay. Hotel room looked very 2024 - the only downside I might have was that we couldn't get the watertemperature of the shower to get colder. So it was a bit too hot, but it was manageable. All in all - I would come back if I were to stay in Cologne again. Definitely recommend.

We prefer a double duvet in a double bed. In out room Theresa where 2 single duvets provided.
The Hotel like most Motel Ones is in the right place and has a really nice vibe. The rooms were to the usual Motel One standard which is part of the reason we use them so much and the bar had a really nice vibe. My only issue was the toilets in the bar/breakfast area were in need of a refurb. They are run down and don't smell great. My partner tells me the ladies are the same.
Disapointed at the size of the rooms expected greater value for money, no kettle or coffee/ tea making facilities, no bath, Whilst hotel reception looks very nice it is too busy and not large enough to hold guests during breakfast. We paid for breakfast and both mornings during our stay we were told we would have to come back later due to the first come first serve policy. when we went back on day 1 we were disappointed by the lack of hot breakfast food. t
Very busy hotel but efficient and fast check in, we arrived a bit early and on the off chance we booked in and were surprised and pleased our room was ready around 1pm, this gave us a perfect opertunity to get our stuff to the room and go explore cologne centre which is just a short walk from the hotel which is very well placed. The rooms were well presented and very clean and were well insulated as we heard very little comings and goings from the corridor. The bar and lounge area was very comfortable and the bar staff all verry efficient and friendly. Finally the breakfast area was busy as expected but what a superb breakfast buffet which was constantly replenished and even with a full clientelle there was no real waiting for anything and the coffee machines of which there were plenty produced excellent coffee. I feel this hotel has spoiled us with it's high standards and I'd certainly look for a motel one first on my list when visiting other cities. We are already talking about a repeat visit next year for the Christmas markets. We stayed 5 nights. One thing to highlight was the parking below the hotel (which is public and does not belong to the hotel so not in there control) it was clean and secure and we didn't move the car for the 5 nights/6 days we were there but it was an expensive stay at 165 euros, so make sure you budget for it.
Friendly efficient desk staff. Bar staff less friendly. Clean and comfortable rooms. Cleaning staff efficient and helpful. Lobby and lounge area is comfortable and pleasing to look at.

Great location, clean room - simple yet has everything that we needed. Great vibe in the lounge - always had people there. Have to pay extra for bottled water, but this was not a big deal. Staff were friendly and informative.
The bedroom was fine (a bit small with a suitcase), but it had a good bed and the bathroom was clean and had everything. The TV had a lot of programs from different countries. The Hotel bar was excellent and wwas late open
La calefacción no funcionaba en la habitación 411. Lo comunicamos el miércoles por la noche y nos dijeron que al día siguiente pasaría el técnico pero el jueves, cuando por la mañana volvimos a comentarlo, nos dijeron que el técnico no estaba en el hotel. nos ofrecieron cambiar de habitación si dejábamos la nuestra a las 12h pero no nos pareció buena solución ya que teníamos un tour programado.

Good overall for a short stay. TV didn’t work in the room; bar area good in the evening but gets very busy and seem short of staff with just two people waiting all the tables. Service functional
Have stayed in Motel One Neumarkt a few times before and it’s always a pleasure to stay there. Check in was smooth, hassle free and the receptionist was very courteous to my needs. Room on the 6th floor was an assessibility room which was bigger than the normal rooms. Spacious bathroom / walk in shower and a king size bed for the perfect sleep. The only downside is the expensive breakfast.
This was my first time staying at any Motel One property and I was very pleased. The staff at Motel One Neumarkt were friendly, professional and efficient. The lobby was comfortable and nicely decorated. It had a lively atmosphere. The room (especially the bathroom) was very clean and light and bright. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the fact that the window opened. Storage is a little bit limited but it is fine for a stay of one or two nights. The paint on the walls was a little bit dirty/ damaged but nothing major. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and will happily stay with Motel One Neumarkt again.
The staff were quite rude at times and quite unwelcoming. On arriving, the lady on reception couldn’t even raise a smile to welcome us. 2 nights the bar staff refused snacks and said only crisps or nuts because they felt they were too busy, when I challenged them because I’d seen them bring a toastie out to another lady and they back tracked, offered to make one!! We have stayed at a few Motel One’s around Europe and this was the worst. A positive was the location of the hotel.

The housekeeping staff were amazing on the 4th floor, approachable and helpful, found me an iron and ironing board and looked after me. I was expecting this to be tough but they both made it easy and smiled the whole way through. Top Marks from me.

I found the lobby area a little too dark in the morning and evening times . I found the mattress very hard also. You felt like you slept on top on the bed and not in the bed . The breakfast wasn't a large choice but it was nice. When I was checking out at 7am the lady at reception desk didn't say anything . Just took the card. No thank you for the stay, no goodbye, . Nothing to leave a good end to the stay. Thanks Robert

An excellent experience. Location is ideal, very close to public transport. We had breakfast on our first morning and was met with a great selection. Pillows and bed are comfortable and shower is very nice.

A bigger selection of vegan food would be great. For example the pastry could be made vegan without any compromise and without the need for two different versions. This way everyone benefits.

Could be a cleaner. Reception area (counter and sitting areas) wasn’t clean. I thought it was cause the reception was crowded with check in guests but even the next day it was unclean. I ordered coffee from the bar (friendly staff) and took up to my room. The next day the room was cleaned but dirty cup, spoon, saucer and sugar packages were left in the room. Love to stay at motel one in every city and usually do stay at mediapark when I am in Köln. It was fully booked and that is why I ended up at Neumarkt. I would recommend motel one but not this location
Amazing location with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Staff were great service was second to none. Lovely room with great view. Have stayed in several Motel One hotels in various countries/cities the standard is carried on throughout the company among, will use again and highly recommend.
El hotel no está mal, las habitaciones bien pero lo que me parece surrealista es que ningún empleado de los que estaban en recepción supiera español y que no hubiera ni un canal de televisión en español. El desayuno muy bien. Los empleados latinos... un diez en amabilidad, simpatía y en profesionalidad.

El hotel bien situado. Habitaciones cómodas.se echa en falta poder prepararte tu mismo una infusión. Al desayuno le faltan opciones calientes. Buena fruta y yogures, así como bollería. Se echa en falta poder tostar pan. Personal muy atento Un aspecto negativo fue que se olvidaron de hacer nuestra habitación el segundo día. No recibimos una disculpa por parte del hotel, algo que hemos echado en falta. El personal de recepción muy distante.

La Catedral es el corazón de Colonia, pero vale la pena dar una vuelta por sus alrededores
Dropped Cone
Justo delante de la puerta del hotel, el cono de helado probablemente más caro del mundo decora el centro comercial Galería Neumarkt. La “fresca” obra de arte de tres toneladas y 1, 5 millones de euros se elaboró en 2001 por el artista del Pop Art, Claes Oldenburg, y se embarcó desde San Francisco hasta la ciudad de la Catedral. ¡Cámaras preparadas!
Torre de la Catedral
No tiene que escalar la Catedral para poder ver de cerca la impresionante obra tallada en piedra. Una reproducción del florón de la torre de la Catedral en tamaño original se encuentra justo delante de la entrada principal.
Fuente de los duendecillos
Las leyendas de los duendecillos están tan arraigadas en la cultura de Colonia como la cerveza local. Enfrente de la cervecería más antigua de la ciudad, la “Früh”, se encuentra la fuente construida en 1897, que evoca los hacendosos duendecillos domésticos de los ciudadanos del poema de August Kopisch.

UNA VUELTA POR EL RIN
Paseo con vistas
Desde nuestro Motel One en Neumarkt salimos al casco antiguo, en la plaza del Heumarkt. Después de cruzar el puente Deutz, se deslizará al sur a lo largo del astillero Deutz en dirección a Poll. Por el puente giratorio Köln-Deutz pasamos por las praderas de Poll y el puerto de Deutz hasta el puente Sur, desde el que hay una vista impresionante del horizonte de Colonia. Al cruzar el Rin, se atraviesa el puerto Rheinau (con cafés y bares para hacer una parada) y se pasa por las características grúas y el museo del chocolate para volver a la plaza del Heumarkt.
Quien tenga ganas de ampliar la ruta, puede seguir desde la plaza del Heumarkt por el Rin hasta el puente Hohenzollern. Aquí puede volver a cruzar el puente y dar una pequeña vuelta por el parque del Rin, antes de volver al centro de la ciudad por el puente del zoo.

¡Colonia y su Catedral tienen algo especial!
Nuestro hotel en Colonia se encuentra situado justo en el Neumarkt, la antigua plaza del mercado de ganado de la ciudad, que se fundó en 1076. Hoy en día, las vacas, los caballos y las gallinas no son los que conquistan el corazón de los compradores, sino más bien las boutiques, los grandes almacenes, etc. La Schildergasse, la calle de compras más popular de Colonia, se encuentra a la puerta de nuestro hotel de diseño en Colonia y en unos minutos le llevará al corazón del casco antiguo. En él le esperan el Ayuntamiento histórico, el Museo de Artes Aplicadas o el puente Hohenzollernbrücke sobre el Rin, así como diversas cervecerías típicas donde refrescarse al dar una vuelta por la ciudad. Finalmente, a través de callejuelas medievales, desde nuestro hotel llegará al símbolo de la ciudad, la Catedral de Colonia.
El interior de nuestro hotel en Colonia-Neumarkt también está definido por esta imponente obra arquitectónica, que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO y uno de los monumentos más visitados de Alemania. Desde los coloridos mosaicos de cristal de la zona de bar, que recuerdan a las artísticas ventanas de la catedral, hasta los separadores de espacios transparentes, inspirados en sus arcos góticos. Desde las instalaciones murales, que transportan al espectador directamente al interior de la nave, hasta los detalles de pizarra y mármol, que representan la estructura de piedra de este monumento con cientos de años de antigüedad, que es todo un imán de visitantes. Nuestro Motel One Colonia-Neumarkt es un homenaje al emblema de Colonia, ¡y (casi) tan bonito como el original!
