Once a year, Berlin is transformed into a paradise for cinema lovers. During the Berlinale (aka the Berlin International Film Festival), lasting almost two weeks, red carpets are rolled out, around 400 new films are released and Berlin plays host to stars big and small from across the world. Motel One Berlin-Upper West is the perfect place for anyone who wants to experience a bit of Tinseltown glitz and glamour beyond the Berlinale Palast.
The towering hotel is located right in the heart of West Berlin, around the corner from the Zoo Palast cinema. The exterior of the building is eye-catching in itself, but it’s definitely worth taking a look inside – our 18 floors are soaked in style from the silver screen 365 days a year. The most-photographed Motel One backdrop? The view from below of the imposing tower structure of the Motel One Berlin-Upper West, designed by the architecture firm Langhof. A hotel with the soul of a skyscraper, it brings a bit of New York glamour to the German capital.

It’s not hard to figure out the theme of our interior design – everything revolves around Berlin as a city of film. This includes Berlin’s emblem, the bear, which forms part of our welcoming committee! A shiny version can be won as a trophy in the Berlinale.
