Flower Power meets Levenslust

...at the Motel One Amsterdam

Ring, ring - that's the soundtrack of Amsterdam! Ever nook and cranny in this city of canals is brimming with the friendly greeting of countless bicycle bells. You too can explore the city quite Amsterdamlike with a trusty two-wheeler since our Motel One Amsterdam is not only directly located in the vicinity of the RAI Convention Centre.

It is also only a quick bike ride or stroll away from the impressive Amstelpark, which was created in 1972 for the Floriade garden and landscaping exhibition. The floral surrounding translates right into the Motel One Lounge concept: humorously embellished with colourful designs and creative details - as a reflection of the Dutch ‘https://fritzhansen.com/en/products?showType=swanlevenslust‘https://fritzhansen.com/en/products?showType=swan , or zest for life.

Tulip Time

There simpy is no getting around tulips in the Netherlands and the national flower is of course also included in our design concept. In springtime the fields on the outskirts of the city are covered in thousands upon thousands of tulips, a breathtaking sight to behold. At the One Lounge you can enjoy the blooming season all year long. Photos on the walls (reminiscent of the old Dutch masters), floral wallpaper and custom-made rugs as well as vibrantly gaudy designer furniture in organic forms transform the One Lounge into a cosy flower meadow.
Especially the ‘Swan Chair’, manufactured by Fritz Hansen and designed by Arne Jacobsen, looks a bit like a blossoming tulip - an exceptionally rare specimen at that since the varied colours were especially designed for Motel One.

Like it, bike it

The 165 canals have always played a major role in Amsterdam. And besides hopping on a boat there is no better way of getting around than by bike. At our One Lounge we have done our fair share to include the city's favorite means of transportation into our design. An installation made of old tire rims (which have entered a new life cycle so to speak - pardon the pun) adorns the wall and an abstract room divider made of bike parts is quite the eye-catcher. Which however, should not distract you from making your way to our fabulous bar that awaits you with an excellent collection of drinks and snacks.
Equally creative: Our message board made of bicycle luggage racks which allows you to leave small notes, poems and thoughts for others... get carried away!
