Stay was excellent. Great outlook and very clean and comfortable. Only thing needed was a kettle etc in the room.
Very happy with our stay in Salzburg
We have never been to Salzburg before, we had heard of Motel Ones and have stayed in one in Munich. It wasn’t too far from the Old Town where the Christmas Market was held, that being the reason for our stay, so we got our daily exercise and explored all aspects of the Old Town, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ll be back for sure.
Tolles Hotel.
Great location and very friendly staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast tasty and plentiful. Would definitely stay again when in Salzburg.
Everything about this hotel was great, especially the lounge/bar area. It makes such a difference to have a lounge to hang out in with nice lighting and seats and nice ambience. The one thing missing was a kettle for tea in the rooms.
Alles war perfekt
The best ever. Great room (607) great view, great breakfast. What's not to like? All brilliant
Alles supper
Alles super
Great MotelOne Hotel, good location with a nice 10 min walk into town along the river and amazing staff! Thanks!
We had a great stay.
Great hotel in a convenient location.
Very, very basic. And I mean basic !!! If one needs an iron or the ironing board / the room doesn’t have it and you need to get it from the reception. Thank goodness I asked. Also there is no coffee maker or even an electric water kettle in the room. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant on side , and the places around are all kebab / pizza type of places , or bars. From this perspective,, this facility is more a motel level than a hotel level. The room was rather nice / I must say that - but it is doesn’t have a desk and the little table is too low to work on it. Very minimal space for anything. . The luggage shelf twas too small for any larger luggage to and there is no space to put it somewhere else. Bed was surprisingly large and very comfortable . Breakfast was OK / typical bufet with the same items every day. Location good and I had a room overviewing the river. However this hotel is not in an immediate area of the train stations,. Approx 12 to 16 min walk is required to get there and if a person has a big luggage this is rather impossible without taking taxi. Taxi cost me 10 Euros , which was more than unexpected based on my experiences in Innsbruck and Salzburg. Construction work going on right in front odbyte how and on the sidewalk. Lois Equippment was used startling 8 am - which made it impossible to sleep. I recognize this is not the hotels fault or problem but the clients looking at this facility need to be aware of that. The biggest issue for me was the situation with payment and having to caught up additional 375 euros right on the spot- something for which I wasn’t ready. This was particularly maddening given the fact that since my reservation which was made in April - for a stay at the end of September, I have called the hotel at least 3 AND verified via email two weeks prior to coming that my stay was already paid in full. In all of those cases I was assured that it was. On the second day of my 3 days stay I was called to the reception to pay for my stay- as apparently the original payment was returned somehow back to my credit card 10 min after the original payment in April went through. I have never experience d anything like that and nobody could provide any logical explanation as to how and why did it happen. The best I got was they „ we have two systems” and something went wrong there. It could well be that there was some glitch somewhere, but that’s why I had contacted the facility to confirm there is no problem. Learning 5 months later that something didn’t go through somehow, and that the money was supposedly returned to the original credit card - that since had been closed for security reason - and having ahead further journey with limited access to money - is not something that should have happened and quite frankly the system problem or whatever caused the situation is not my problem. On my end did everything I could to book properly, to pay right away to secure the room and to confirm all is taken care of. On top of all of that when booking on April the exchange rate was much more favorable to me. At the time of the payment I lost good 60 USD just on exchange itself. Having this experience will make Me very reluctant in the future to do any business with Hotel Motel One. And to finish this review on the positive side, the hotel personel was kind and willing to help when asked for help.
Great hotel
Great location with very accommodating staff. Never disappointed in the breakfasts. Right on the river and minutes from the old town. Couldn’t ask for more!
Nice hotel, but bit quite as good as other Motel Ones. Service was quite subdued and could be more friendly.
it‘a bit de-central room swith a view to the back are horrible price was too high during the Festspiele staff was extremely friendly like in all MO. The clients were just a nightmare. A strange mix of people. The first MO (out of 29 I know) which I wouldn’t recommend.
I took my senior parents on a trip, and they absolutely loved their stay. My mom particularly was happy with the housekeeping, but was a bit disappointed with the staff service at the bar. Overall, they are definitely going to consider motel one for recommendations to friends and future stays in Europe.
Amazing accommodations, wonderful staff, and a very luxurious feel to the whole experience. The only minor recommendation for future accommodations for business travelers would be to potentially offer a checklist of items that they may desire to ensure they are ready to work that could be provided (for a charge as appropriate) upon check in such as an iron or steamer. And one more general recommendation, please consider having a trash bin in the main room next to the desk. I only had the one in the bathroom. I think it would be nice for both guests and cleaning staff to have 2 so that things are not discarded in a manner that makes for a longer clean up.
Excellent location by the Salz river. Nice walking route to the old town. Good price-quality relation. Nice design in the room and lobby. However replace the paper mugs in the room with real glasses. Improve noice isolation through the doors.
The hotel is fine, only was very anoying to get a noisy room when was requested a quiet room due to my tinitus problem. I had the feeling reception Girls although offering another one to be bothered by me. The room 520 gets constantly the sound up and down of the lift. One of the Girls said was controlled and no noise in my room. This is impossible. Made me think they did not care very much about my request. If the stay shold have been longer, I could not stand the noise.
Rooms very small
Friendly staff, v clean, nice downstairs areas. Room was small though and website made a big deal out of the 'vegan' breakfast which was poor, especially for the price.
Alles super
nice room - great view - up to motel 1 standards
Pros: Very helpful and efficient reception staff. Good location. Nice river views (with the river facing rooms, obviously!). Cons: Very, very gloomy bar area (someone got carried away with the black paint!). Don't want to be a killjoy, but too many TVs showing the football (no effort to make provision for a quiet area away from the TVs!) and muzak was too loud in the bar and reception area! We didn't use the bar after the first evening because it wasn't welcoming. Sliding doors to the outside seating area were left open so cigarette smoke permeated the whole bar (and breakfast) area - not very nice at all.
Good modern hotel with river views, mostly friendly staff, and decent location relative to attractions and transport.
Great staff. Great location on river.
The staff were very helpful and our rooms were very clean. The view from our room to the River was pleasant to wake up too.
Perfect location - walkable from the train station and the old town. Great view of the Salzbach from the room. Fabulous breakfast options - kept us full in our morning travels. We would love to come back again next time.
Had a great stay at the Motel One in Salzburg. Excellent room with a river view. Accommodations were wonderful, bar area and snacks were great and breakfast was excellent.
Nice room, nice view, good breakfast and good staff. Breakfast can get a little crowded.
Very nice and clean room
Great hotel, very friendly professional staff. Lovely bright room, great location by the river, would stay again :-)
Competent and friendly staff, nice and functional room overlooking river. Excellent location and short walk along the river to old town. Parking next door works. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
Alles top top
Alles prima!
Fantastic room with a great view!!! Thanks!!
Beautiful rooms and a nicely designed hotel. Distance to the city center is adequate. Easily reached from the train station. The outside terrace was in the sun, and the only places in the shade were reserved for groups. Although there were no groups at all on a very hot day, I was cussed off of the spot in the shade. Therefore I could not use the outside lounge. I found this not accommodating and lacking hospitality.
Great location, close to train station and main attractions. Good rooms, clean, stylish, but could not connect to TV and hair conditioner would have been appreciated. Delicious breakfast. Staff was friendly!
Great booking experience, professional and kind front desk personnel, very clean and quite cosy. I was sorry I was there on a short academic trip and could not stay longer. Totally recommend.
War alles bestens
Overall a pleasant stay. Would probably not book the breakfast next time.
Once again a really good stay at a motel one. We were disappointed that the premium room with balcony was unavailable due to that floor being decorated. We definitely missed the extra space, and with the weather being so nice the balcony would’ve been amazing. But we were moved to a room with a view, refunded the difference, and given a free breakfast, which slightly made up for the disappointment. The bar area was beautiful and the hot aperol was delicious.
Tolles Team!
Very good location, and beautiful view.
Super smart hotel with lovely friendly staff. Very good room with balcony and views over Saltzburg. Excellent breakfast but disappointing availability of snacks at other times
Super location. Comfortable stay.
Excellent hotel with great location. The team working here were so friendly, nice and welcoming. Rooms extremely comfortable and clean - especially the bed. Good selection of food and drink at the bar at very reasonable prices.

Rock me Amadeus
‘Where would we be without music?’ Design is as important to us as music was to Mozart – especially here, in the middle of Salzburg! At our Motel One Salzburg-Mirabell, the city’s most acclaimed progeny and his 18th-century works shape the interior. In our lounge – a living room, coffee house and bar all rolled into one – trumpet lights, instrument-themed accents and glimpses of musical notes all bring to mind Salzburg’s prodigy and emphasise the importance of classical music for this Austrian city of culture.
Music to your ears
Get comfortable on inviting leather armchairs, velvet sofas and rustic wooden furniture and reflect on your day while enjoying one or two Mozartkugeln chocolates at our hotel in Salzburg. Or maybe with a drink at the bar? Or perhaps you’d prefer to sit on a cosy box-spring bed in front of a flat-screen TV in your room. Whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to check out the neon installation in the lounge – a particular favourite of ours, where the line ‘Rock me Amadeus’ from the Falco song of the same name is spelled out in lights. Hello, photo opportunity! Selfies can... should... must be taken here!
Would you like an encore? Our design hotel in Salzburg, with a stylish outdoor lounge, is sure to tempt you outside to gaze upon panoramic views of the Salzach river and the surrounding mountains. This affordable hotel in the centre of Salzburg really is just a stone’s throw away from the Salzach and within walking distance of the old town. The central station is also close by, and its proximity to the Salzburg Congress is handy if you are visiting this charming city for business or an event.
Mozart’s living room
This hotel, incidentally, is named after the nearby Mirabell formal gardens and the opulent Mirabell Palace nestled within – a lovely place for a quiet stroll. From here, you are just a few minutes from the Mozart Residence, and just a leap over the Salzach – you can, of course, also use the Staatsbrücke or the Marko-Feingold-Steg bridges – from Mozart’s birthplace in Getreidegasse. Staying with us puts you right in the heart of Mozart’s city. Visit us at our affordable design hotel Salzburg-Mirabell: after all, ‘where would we be without design?’.
