This hotel is in a perfect location, near the trains, bus stops, attractions and fabulous food & drink. We loved hanging out in the lobby/lounge area - the staff was amazing and it was great for our group to gather. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, very quiet and comfortable. The ‘compact’ rooms were cozy, with just enough room to move around. No closets/dressers, so you’ll need live out of the suitcase. The bathroom/shower was excellent and perfect for us. You can’t go wrong staying at a Motel One property - with the low pricing and chic vibe, we stayed at this hotel in each of the 3 countries we visited in Europe - all were fabulous!
Not much to fault, good location cost and friendly staff
When I did a book, I wrote that me and my wife were going with our 08 years old daughter. Unfortunately, there was no bed for her in our room. There was no bed available in the hotel either. The room was extremely small The hotel should have warned me about that when I did the book.
Excellent location, right in the city center. Very nice hotel design, with stilish common areas and small but functional rooms. Super friendly staff, who also helped us a lot when, unfortunately, we had to anticipate our check out. Breakfast could be improved, but good value for money anyway.
Good hotel, excellent location, clean and comfortable.
The hotel is very well located, the employees are nice and breakfast is quite good. The bath towels are too small but the room was okay. I think the price is good for what you get.
War alles okay
My stay was very good, except I had to walk up a flight of stairs as there was no elevator to the last floor
After so many years, still in love with this place. Would love to get some larger rooms for better family occupation but overall its still amazing.
Upon arrival, our room was ready for us at 4:40 PM, which was disappointing after a day of traveling. We had expected to check in on time. The hotel's public area is extremely small, and there were plenty of suitcases and people waiting for their rooms. The room looked as it did in the pictures—renovated, with comfy beds, a good walk-in shower with strong water pressure, a kettle, and tasteful decoration. However, the housekeeping standards left much to be desired. There were fingerprints on the wood, hair in the bathroom, and the floor hadn’t been swept. Additionally, there were noticeable water stains in the shower. The noise from outside the room was a significant issue. The room door felt like it was made of cardboard, offering no sound isolation. We could hear everything happening in the corridor—staff talking, chairs being moved, and even the sound of linens being dragged on the floor. It was very disruptive and made it difficult to sleep in the morning and evening . -no breakfast, lounge.... The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the central train station or just two bus stops away. The bus stop is very close, and the bus took us directly to the city center. However, the walk to the station felt quite far
We have been coming regularly to this hotel since it opened and are big fans. The location, service, lobby design, great amenities, and frugal yet high-quality rooms make it almost perfect. The hotel seems a bit dated now, as we had an occasional bad smell in the toilet—the ventilator drew it out, but when the shower wasn't used for a while, smells from supposedly other rooms crept over. Something to work on.
Beautiful hotel great service great staff Thank you
Wonderful location and the reception staff were so nice and accommodating! Everything was clean and quiet. Stayed for 6 nights and I would definitely stay here again. Only reason it was not a 10 is that breakfast is not included in the price.
Alles top
clean friendly lovely bar nice room safe deposit
My family really appreciated the convenient location of the Motel One. The user interface to the TV was not easy to use for the Apple devices we use.
Excellent value for money
The Motel One Team members were very cordial and helpful. We enjoyed having the large windows to look at the park across the street while enjoying coffee, beer or spirits.
Breaksfast: expensive, not so many choices and missing warm dishes. Communication: as a spanish we do not request to speak spanish but at least english. People can’t communicate and you can feel their discomfort. Lack of feeling welcome or warm there
Always stay at this Motel One when visiting Munich. Staff always helpful and polite, hotel always clean and comfortable. Breakfast always tasty and plentiful and a brilliant location. Would never stop anywhere else!
It would have been a 10 apart from breakfast being cleared before 10 on one of the days
Good location, beautiful decoration
Motel one has a good choice of hotels to choose from. Our stay was easy to book, the room was clean, the shower was good. The only small negative point is you have a choice of having your room cleaned or not cleaned, if you choose not to have it cleaned that don't check if you have enough toilet paper and you have to go and ask for some, otherwise all good.
Excellent hotel. Small rooms, but that is to be expected in the EU as you should be spending more time outside than in your room. The public areas were clean and well tended. Breakfast was good with options for everyone. I liked how the lobby was open and staffed, even late into the evening. There was an odd mix up with an overcharge, but they resolved this quickly and without fuss. Excellent value over-all. I would 100% consider coming back to Motel One for future stays in Munich.
I was very happy with the service at your hotel. I was greeted on my arrival (early due to my flight) and there was a room available. That was very welcome. The only two items I would note for improvement: - the breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room - upon check-out the reception desk were distracted and could have, from a customer service perspective, could have asked how the stay was, if I needed anything else - but these are small things. I was happy with the cleanliness of the room, etc... Oh, one more item: I wish there was an option to tip the cleaning staff with a pinpas. I no longer use cash and ideally, if there was a QR code or something like that, I would have left a tip. Thank you. Danke.
The construction noise (drilling into walls or floors) began shortly before 7am on my first night’s stay. Being jet lagged after traveling trans Atlantic, this was extremely irritating since I had not slept the night before. The construction noise, randomly continuing throughout the morning. If you can not sleep at a hotel, what’s the point? When I brought the issue to the front desk the following morning I was dismissed ( they claimed it didn’t start that early, but would continue all day).
The room location was noisy and the breakfast was poor. The cleaning was good and the bed and sheets confortable and clean.
A very nice room. Clean, comfortable, and a nicely furnished. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel bar, dining areas, and food presentation was very nice.
The breakfast sets (made of paper, too big, reminiscent of Holiday express or IBIS standards) at the small breakfast tables in the lobby make the very tasty breakfast look cheaper.
Special thanks to Maria for organizing our stay. Very professional and friendly. The room was clean and well-adjusted with the requested baby bed. The view was very beautiful. Breakfast was nice as well.
this is about my tenth stay at the Motel One Sendlinger Tor and like in previous stays, I enjoyed my room, was treated kindly by the staff of the lounge and reception and took advantage of the great location !
This Motel One at Sendlinger Tor feels old and outdated. Our room was like a dormitory. Our first room had no power. We changed rooms
Alles Top.
The location of this Motel One is great and it's very well designed. We arrived at 3pm due to our flight time and the reception only had two staff covering which was inadequate at the start of check-in time. The bigger issue was room cleanliness. There was hair in the bed which I had to remove. Me and my travelling partner are blonde so it was not ours. The hair was all the way along the top of the bed by the headboard. I've never encountered this before and it was disgusting. Please ensure this doesn't happen again. It is not obvious that you can drop the room key cards off to check out and I ended up queuing unnecessarily. It is a small sign on a bin at reception that is not easy to see until you are at the front of reception.
The hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It’s a great value for the price. Just be aware that there are no refrigerators, microwaves or coffee pots in the rooms, and parking in the garage is limited and not guaranteed.
Wonderful sleep and quiet. Good breakfast
Excellent Hotel, clean, comfortable and great location
Alles Ok!
The hotel is very nice and in a good location. My room was cold and told the front desk my WiFi did not work well in the room as well.
All was fine except for the heavy doors, which made a lot of noise during the night.
Very nice hotel, well situated in the centre but still quiet. Very clean and beautiful design
We enjoyed our stay at your location. While the price was quite high we do recognize it was during Oktoberfest. It was a good location to get to Oktoberfest and to Marianplatz too. Nice and clean place as we have found at other Motel-One locations too.
I come in Motel One every year from 2009 , when you open , during Oktoberfest . I was there even this year in august with my wife . I think this is enough to explain how much I like it.....
Friendly service, fancy interior and in the rooms all what you need - overall: always a good an excellent choice!
Great staff, top location in munich, free upgrade with balcony
Good value, helpful and friendly staff.
Alles prima!!
Excellent location, great staff, clean rooms, Only downside was small size of rooms but not a big deal for us
Great location. Small room but perfectly adequate for what we needed for a few days. Clean, today and good staff.
The lobby was much nicer than the rooms. It would have been nice for the rooms and halls to look a little more lime the lobby. I wish the bar was more beer oriented vs gin. I lone gin but in Bavaria, I wanted a stein of beer.

Crystal Clear Connections
In our Motel One Munich-Sendlinger Tor designer Roos Kalff is building bridges between past and present by combining vintage pieces and modern functionality.
Sleep like royalty in Bavarian splendour
The Sendlinger Tor city gate is a rare vestige of Munich’s old fortifications, and marks the southern extremity of the city’s historic Isar-side old town. In designing the Motel One Munich-Sendlinger Tor, we’ve taken inspiration from the lavish palaces dreamt up by Ludwig II. This One Lounge is a refuge merging the baroque with the modern: a throne-like velvet sofa by Creazioni and ceramic table legs by Studio Kalff, for example, hark back to the pomp of Ludwig’s era without neglecting contemporary design. A dramatic mural of Neuschwanstein and a playfully monarchial ambiance make for a great backdrop for a healthy organic breakfast and a great start to your day.
Staying at the Motel One Munich-Sendlinger Tor, you're adjacent to the very centre of town, perfectly situated for a stroll round the very heart of Munich. Just a few hundred metres from the hotel are the Marienplatz and Town Hall at one end of Kaufingerstraße, while a few blocks further on are other must-sees like the Viktualienmarkt, Frauenkirche and Hofbräuhaus. Munich central station with its direct connection to Munich airport is only slightly further off. The Sendlinger Tor underground station is just round the corner from the hotel, so trade fair visitors can take the U2 line straight to the exhibition centre. And if you want to visit the source of our inspiration, the nineteenth-century palace is only a day trip away.
