Great price, location and spotlessly clean room
The check-in experience was really easy, friendly help full check-in staff (Ginevra) made it a easy experience. The room was clean and offered everything we needed for a nights stay
Friendly staff Clean room Perfect location Great value for money
We really enjoyed our stay at Motel One Manchester - Royal Exchange. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The motel is very centrally located for seeing the sights as well as close to restaurants.
Lovely friendly place. Great location. I will defo be back. We travel to Manchester ofter as our son plays football there ao its an ideal place to stay.
Clean, adequately furnished, quiet and comfortable room. Receptionist 3xtremely friendly. Breakfast was different. I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if it stipulates "Continental". Issues with the car park on Friday morning around 8:30am. It appeared the entry to the carpark was closed off due to road works near by. I was attending a nearby building and could not confirm whether the road closure was for a short period of time. It's a shame that when you make such bookings that car park is included in the price. I had to park in the nearby NCP for a day rate of £22.95. One of those things. That is why I scored you 9 and not 10.
Always choose this hotel for a reasonably priced one night stay. Great location, basic decor, clean comfortable bed and good shower with a bar and breakfast room
This was my second visit to the hotel. Both times I was allocated a room on the first floor - this time 129. This is just above street level, to have privacy from people in the street looking in I had to keep the curtains closed... :( I will remember to request a higher room when booking in the future! The bathroom shower is great but the hot water was limited to 40C - I'm not sure if it was that hot. I would have liked the shower to be 45C. The sink only had cold water - why?
Friendly, comfortable, quiet hotel with an excellent bathroom with great city centre location. Room just has the things you need. Reception staff were relaxed, happy, friendly and efficient.
Great location lovely clean room helpfull staff
Clean rooms, polite staff
This was a very good hotel for a very cheap price! The bedroom and bed are modern, comfortable and quiet, with a modern bathroom and a good shower (hot water immediately available). The breakfast is excellent, with a lot of options, including vegan ones. The tea from the coffee machine was not the best though (water had a sort of metallic taste). The staff is very kind and helpful, always greeting customers with a vibrant smile. I’d definitely book again if I came back!
Absolutely loved it in there, you get treated amazingly in there and the rooms are top notch for the price. Will be going again definitely
Quite a noisy room, duvet pretty thin so I was cold during the night but staff(especially Fatima on reception) was great and overall, still good value for money.
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean all around. Just fantastic
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. My stay was spoiled by finding a pizza dropped and spread all over the carpet in the corridor outside my room and excessive noise throughout the night on Saturday.
The hotel room was nice Got charged 100£ for spilling water on the bed Staff was nice although some was rude
We stayed 2 years ago and loved it so much we decided to come back again and instead of the standard room we decided to pay extra for "the special one", to be honest I was disappointed and definitely preferred the standard room. The room and bathroom felt smaller to me and we were away in the back corner, view of the back of another building and the window didn't even open to let any air in. I definitely won't be paying extra for any upgrades in future. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, clean room, comfortable bed and we paid for breakfast in advance which was lovely. We will definitely be coming back again on our next visit.
Great location and staff friendly and helpful.
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Ideally located.
Fantastic location & great value for money. Terrible breakfast. But good coffee
The hotel was well situated , modern and clean I was disappointed with the time it took to check in , as there was a long queue of customers and not enough staff on duty . The other slight disappointment was that I could hear conversations from other bedrooms , which kept me awake for a while. Other than that the room was comfortable and I would stay again
Great value, central location, nice clean room, helpful and friendly staff.
Staff very kindly accommodated my requests upon arrival. Very friendly and helpful, central location and reasonable pricing. Hotel room clean with everything you needed.
I had a great experience as usual - Great service, friendly team. Especially the team in the front office is one of the reasons that I choose this hotel everytime. I have ordered several parcels to the reception and all been handled perfectly by Ginevra and Fatima from the front office. They've been very helpful with everything during my stay. Also, on contrary to my experience in other hotels around the world, house keeping team is very friendly. Whenever I see a housekeeper on the hallway, they were saying hi with a smiling face which makes people feel positive. The only criticism that I have would be the registration process for the free wi-fi everytime I log out.I think this could be improved. There is no doubt that I will choose to stay at Motel One Royal Exchange again on my next visit to Manchester. Thank you
Very comfortable room ideally located for the city centre couldn't fault it
Reception staff were lovely and it was really quick to check in and even better our room was ready, even though we were early. Room was well decorated and so clean. The bed is so comfy! Also love that you get two duvets!! I especially like that the hotel has a bar and it's open late, perfect for when you don't quite want the night to end! Would always stay here whenever I'm in Manchester. Perfect location. And the mints on reception are top notch!
Lovely, central, very affordable hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Fatima at reception was particularly kind and accommodating. Would def stay again :)
Staff really friendly, quick to check in and out, , room very clean , would stay with them again A+++++
Perfect central location to explore Manchester. The only downside side was our room windows faced onto a 9 to 5 office so we had to close the curtains during the day.
Lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Great accessibility as a wheelchair user, with a very good wet room provided complete with a secure shower seat
Great location. Even though room is small is well organized to fit your needs. The friendly and helpful attention by Ginebra, Elletra and Fatima was simply outstanding.
Very clean staff were very pleasant and helpful
Extremely friendly staff. Rooms, unfortunately, very small. Great location.
The perfect location to explore Manchester. In the middle of all of the action but nice and quiet. Lovely clean, warm rooms and really friendly staff, a perfect combination.
Stayed after an event at Co-Op Live. Handily placed in Central Manchester. Easy access to transport links. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Room was clean and perfectly adequate for an overnighter. Excellent value for money. Would recommend. This is my third visit.
The hotel is very modern, the lobby and bar area very pleasant. Our room was great, perfect size for 2 of us, with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Our check in was quick and Andrea on the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. I had spoken to Andrea earlier in the day when enquiring about parking again she was really helpful. The location is perfect I would definitely recommend staying here.
Very clean comfortable and great location
£150 a night & you don’t even get proper mugs to make a brew with, just paper cups! Outrageous.
Rooms were lovely, great location and the staff were so helpful.
Poor soundproofing - could hear tv from room next door through the wall, and noise from guests walking down corridor at night.
location was very convenient. room was clean and felt comfortable.
Perfecto. Thank you very much
The only criticism was the fact that the toilets are down in the basement and the only way to access them was via ONE lift or the stairs, at the time of my stay that lift was out of commission and you had to use the stairs, and to be honest it was quicker to return to you room.
Very disappointed in the temperature in the room, the fact the window would not open and the air con did not work, was horrifically hot
Great location and price.
Great stay, great room, great locations for the city.
Hotel was nice and clean staff really friendly and helpful only thing is you have to pay for the car park which I think should be included in the price of the stay
What a lovely place to stay and how friendly and helpful the staff were, especially the young man who checked us in and personally escorted us to the parking gates, opening them and closing them again, helping with bags, info re the trams, what a lovely guy. Rooms were basic but clean, perfect for a one night stay for a concert, good location. Breakfast was Devine.
Room was very clean. Bed was comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Your Motel One with industrial chic
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
