stay was amazing
I didn’t like that a hotel doesn’t serve food
Great hotel and especially good and friendly reception
Ideal overnight stop near the airport. Ten minute (€20) taxi ride. Friendly staff. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable. Quiet location.
Comfortable rooms, equipped with all we needed. Great value for money
The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and so close to everything. Would definitely recommend.
Customer service was great. Ginevra was fantastic, she was very helpful throughout the whole process, especially when I was trying to check in a bit early to avoid the evening rush. I've had a few problems, but nothing major. Most recently, however, there was an earwig hiding under my pillow on the first night of my stay. It's most likely a one off, but a bit concerning. Overall, the customer service is great, the rooms are nice, and checking in and out is very easy.
Clean and tidy, modern city centre motel with friendly staff.
Reliable, convenient, clean and comfortable
Very reasonably priced. Nice clean rooms with all the stuff you'd expect. Very well situated on Cross Street. Staff were professional and welcoming.
We had a marvellous stay well worth the price, location was great in city centre, staff very friendly and helpful with eat out locations well recommended 💯
We had a great time in your hotel. We were warmly welcomed and the room was really comfortable and clean. Very convenient location.
Really enjoyed our stay, hotel was spotless and staff were very accommodating, the only slight niggle was there was no iron in our room which would have been useful
A modern hotel with a welcoming staff, perfectly located just minutes from the convention center.
The room was good and the bed comfortable, and the price for the stay was excellent. The location was also perfect. The staff on check in and check out seemed a little indifferent. No mention was made of breakfast times for instance, and I wasn’t asked how my stay was on checking out, but overall the experience was good and I’d stay again.
This is a lovely well maintained hotel, beautifully designed, staff are friendly and helpful, the bar is excellently stocked and staff are lovely, beds are very comfortable, the only problem I found was that the room was very small and no dressing table I have paid less for more space, but apart from that it's excellent.
Our second stay at a Motel One and it will not be our last. Super smart, beautiful room, lovely staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Arriving in Manchester by train, this time we chose the Royal Exchange site (as the room was £40 less than the Piccadilly) but it was still easily accessible with the free bus from Piccadilly station. Worth remembering for next time.
Great Location, Good Breakfast & Simple Design
Stayed here a few times and always receive a warm welcome from the reception staff, rooms clean and comfy. Will be back in March
Excellent room and Excellent service!
Lovely, would happily stay again.
I really enjoy Motel One Royal Exchange. Great part of town and a really nice atmosphere. However, I really don't like a double bed that is two singles joined and can't sleep in the middle. Appreciate this is petty but if I'm paying for a double bed I'd like a double bed.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean rom comfortable bed, good price, handy to town centre, good continental breakfast
Great location, facilities and friendly staff at reasonable price per night. Would book again.
Excellent stay in a central location. Staff were outstanding with a can do mentality nothing was any trouble, they made our stay. The room would benefit from a mini fridge.
Complaint reported to the manager No response Very regular visitor here and unhappy this has not been adresssd
Rooms were too hot! Had to open window, so noisy. Bed rock hard, rooms small. Plus points, clean, nice breakfast and nice staff
Stay was absolutely lovely, the view from our room and the room was very clean and lovely, staff were nice and helpful, and over all just beautiful. Will definitely be returning in the future thank you.
Clean & welcoming staff. Central location Best I’ve stayed in in Manchester
Had a fantastic stay. Many thanks to the two receptionists who could see that my 6 year old son was really struggling with tiredness after being up at 4am, and getting us into our room at midday rather than the 3pm check in time. It was massively appreciated and made the remainder of our trip so much more straightforward. The hotel itself is also highly recommended.
Great location and hotel with fantastic staff.
Fantastic as always. Great price. Can’t fault location. Rooms have everything I need and always clean
An Unforgettable Stay! This hotel exceeded all my expectations. Everything was absolutely perfect! The bed was the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept in – I felt like I was floating on a cloud. The room was also wonderfully soundproofed, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay. The staff were simply amazing, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. A special shoutout to Mario, whose kindness and professionalism truly stood out. He made our stay even more special. I couldn’t recommend this place enough – I’ll definitely be coming back!
Our stay was absolutely perfect, we couldn’t fault it in anyway! Such a nice hotel, and reasonably priced considering it’s close proximity to plenty of shops, bars and restaurants
Good clean budget hotel with helpful staff. Overpriced breakfast so didn’t have; room price also a bit too high.
This was a quiet and very convenient place to stop being right in the city centre. The room was comfortable. The TV didn't have many working channels though not a big issue. I don't like the paper cups in the rooms and took my own mug and teaspoon - am all for recycling however expect more than paper for the price paid.
Room temperature was too hot. Pillows were either too hard or too soft. Not giving points for company bookings is not going to keep me loyal.
Exceptional service from staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable with many quality details such as detachable shower head, large sink, fluffy towels, excellent bed, etc.. However, the building itself is not soundproof enough so had disturbed sleep, the toilet not secure to the wall as it creaked with any weight put on it and the air con not working so too hot.
Great service as usual
It was a nice stay in a nice classy hotel. Welcoming staff.
Lovely, welcoming staff, spotless room, comfortable bed and a good night's sleep, our second stay here and will definitely visit you again !!
Lovely stay very safe and comfortable
No heat in room on a very cold night. Strong smell of weed about the place
Excellent stay as always! I have stayed here a number of times now and am never disappointed, have already booked again for April. Rooms are lovely, beds are clean and comfortable, staff are always helpful and friendly and the location is perfect.
A great stay, staff very helpful. Room was very clean.
Very good all round. Lovely staff, room, location great. Only one point, and it’s not a criticism, trying to get a drink in an evening was very difficult. Only 2 staff working very very hard to serve lots of people all clambering to get a drink. Motel One you need more staff on the bar or at least a system to get people to queue more kindly. But saying that it didn’t spoil our stay and we will come back, thank you.
Lovely clean modern hotel. Friendly staff. Good location
Friendly, helpful and clean. I would definitely stay again.
Excellent location. Staff very friendly. Spotlessly clean.
Clean, modern, friendly and perfect central location. Very efficient and excellent breakfast.

Your Motel One with industrial chic
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.
