I have stayed at Motel One before and am always impressed with the simplicity of the rooms. Very clean, minimal but comfortable, along side a roomy bathroom for such a small footprint! Breakfast is a continental style but why would you weigh yourself down when your are in a city well-known for its fabulous eatery. The price is always very competitive and of course you have the train station across the road!
From the moment we walked through the doors of the hotel, I knew we would be comfortable. The ambience was perfect. The fact that we could check in early was a total bonus! Made our very early start worth it. The room was well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom! For a short city break, it is an ideal hotel to stay in. Loved it! Oh, and the price!?! Outstandingly great value! We will definitely book a Motel One again!
Lovely hotel. Excellent location Friendly helpful staff
Great staff. Warm welcome. Smart hotel.
i love this hotel and have stayed multiple times but this stay was made unpleasant but the heat in the room. I tried to change the temperature multiple times but the room would not cool down. it was unbearable. I tried to open the window but there wasn't enough space to cool the room down. I ended up leaving early as it was so uncomfortable.
I’d not stayed at a motel one before but I was pleasantly surprised. The price was great. We paid £107 for bed and breakfast in a double room. We’ve stayed in Manchester before but for double that price so I was sceptical for the price. I need of not been. The bar area and foyer was lovely. The room was really nice. Very comfortable. The only downside to the room was the tv. The reception on all channels was poor and breaking up so couldn’t watch anything but we didn’t really need it but does need sorting. The breakfast was a buffet continental which was very tasty and lots of choice. The staff were very friendly and polite. The only downside to this hotel is where we had breakfast there was the front doors opening and closing all the time as people coming in and out which I get but in February this very pretty cold. Maybe think about this in the future with keeping certain doors closed in the morning as there was another main door near the bar. But overall a lovely stay.
Good value. Good location. Nice room.
Very noisy room
It was everything ok less the breakfast, breakfast is very poor.
I like : Location is amazing, staff is very friendly and supportive. I dislike : No drinking water, no tea boiler, don't feel wellcome when you get to the room. Also the hotel doesn't give flexibility for extending stay beyond check out time!!
The main reason the score isn't as high as it should be is mainly due to our room not being serviced at all throughout our stay. Admittedly we did not vacate the rooms before 11.30 each day but every other accommodation we've stayed in (including Glasgow's Motel One) both home and abroad has made allowances, if only to empty the bins.
Very clean and smelling fresh. Everyone we came in contact with from reception to bar were wonderful. Many Thanks
My second stay at the hotel. It is very clean nice rooms and staff are very friendly. I really enjoyed the breakfast lots of choice. I will definitely return.
Very good 👍
Exceptional in all areas.
The hotel was excellent in all ways - very efficient and professional checkin, I could even access my room early, a read bonus. All the staff were open, friendly, helpful and caring. Room was clean and functional. Perfect location. I can highly recommend Motel One Piccadilly
Bathroom smelled of sewage and the bed sheets had a damp smell to them. Also the carpet beside the bed was damp. Wasn’t a massive hindrance to my stay and hasn’t impacted my preference for Motel One at all. Great location, bar, services and staff are as friendly and welcoming as ever :)
Smooth check in and check out. Pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely room. Would prefer proper cup and spoons in the room for tea and coffee. This was a second experience of staying with the chain.
Very expensive for what you are getting. A very small dated room without a phone, water or a fridge for £130 a night is not good value for money
Stayed a few times and always have a lovely stay for work.
The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff where nice and welcoming and friendly and helpful. Only thing I can criticise is that they didn't provide water in the rooms like most hotels do.
Generally great all-round - only thing I'd change is the room decor, specifically the walls. Think if you could put some art across them then it'd be ideal; the bare walls look a bit 1960s school gym-esque. There's a huge number of local artists you can partner with across Greater Manchester (I've bought plenty of work myself) - that would just add a final bit of flair to the room. Would happily stay again though!
Room was lovely and had a good view over the town, except the heat was crazy. The air con wouldn't work and the window hardly opened to let any air in. Receptionist was lovely and friendly and even let us into our room an hour early. We were told by reception that the bar was open until 2 but then it closed at 12 rather abruptly by the night manager, which is disappointing as we'd been to a concert and planned on a couple of drinks after. Whenever we asked why we were just given a 1 word answer of 'staff'. Bar staff could do with more training and a little bit more hospitality towards guests as he was very blunt and didn't appear to know what he was doing.
Everything was top notch, cleanliness wasn’t an issue at all, room was perfect for a short stay, bathroom very modern and clean with good amenities. Staff were lovely and check in was easy, appreciate the 12pm check out time! Only downside was that the windows aren’t very soundproof so could hear the street/trams quite badly but I’m a light sleeper so understandable
Brilliant as always.
Excellent staff and clean bedroom. Unfortunately there was an awful drain smell in the bathroom which I reported
I do hate when hotels have the beds protected with plastic covers under the sheet. One gets a sweaty night instead of a comfortable night with good sleep. (I do understand the reason to use it but I don't appreciate it. I have to remake the bed in situations like that) Besides that all good.
Expensive night for a basic room, poor breakfast but excellent location
Room was modern and bed was sooo comfy. Staff were friendly and everything was clean. The one thing that slightly dampened it was the bathroom had a strange smell on arrival, like drainage.
Great location, friendly staff and really good value.
Nice, comfortable rooms. Check in process was smooth and staff were friendly. Slight smell in the bathroom and some lingering shaving hairs in the toilet when I arrived. Location is brilliant, right next to train station. Continental breakfast was fine. No cooked breakfast option.
The foyer and entrance is lovely, but the rooms are small and basic, but overall ok for the price and location perfect for Piccadilly train station.
The hotel is in a prime location but very munched over priced for the size of the room £160 for a night without breakfast included is way to much
Excellent value for money overall although doubling the room price for Thursday(the Man Utd v Rangers football match the reason I assume?) was a shame.
Brilliant hotel, good location with an easy check in with friendly staff. Rooms where clean and tidy, as was the rest of the hotel. Beds were very comfortable, no noise was heard. I would definitely stay again.
Really great hotel in a very central location everything was super clean. The staff was lovely and helpful and just all around great! The breakfast was fantastic. Thank you so much for an excellent stay.
It was a very pleasant experience and the hotel had everything we wanted. The only thing I would wish for was a shelf or a table on both sides of the bed.
Good location
It was a nice stay , perfect
Beautiful hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and clean, spacious rooms with lots of storage/places to hang your clothes and tea/coffee making facilities. Lighting in the bathroom was perfect for getting ready.
Very smart, modern and convenient hotel. Good location, spotlessly clean and very friendly staff.
Excellent hotel.Position was ideal. The staff were extraordinary. Friendly, polite and very good at their jobs.Would definitely return.
Second visit…..great central hotel, helpful staff and lovely rooms
The hotel location is excellent just 5 minutes away walk to/from Piccadilly train station. The staff are very nice. Very nice breakfast buffet. The room is a bit small.
Welcome was warm, rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are pleasant.
For the second time I was allocated in a room that I could not adjust the temperature. I needed to call the reception 3 times to have it sorted, and at the last time one of the receptionist told me the system was settled up automatically for the winter, and there wanst anything they could do. So unfortunately I needed to sleep in a very warm room as there was no way to set it up for a mild temperature, like 22 degrees.
Reception staff - Fantastic! Room - Satisfied However i dont know if there is something in there room but i have come home and i have been bitten by something over 15 times i have 15 inflated bite marks over my body
Unlike other Motel Ones I have stayed it, the rooms were not quiet and the air quality was not as good as in other Motel One hotels so far.
Clean and comfortable. Great price and location.
Apart from the WiFi which the did try to sort by offering to move me to another room, everything was great . Staff were really helpful and friendly.
