Once you do need a break, we recommend the nearby “Planten un Blomen” park. Nestled between the Millerntor and Congress Center, the spacious park with its various themed areas is one of Hamburg’s many green spots. 

In the mood for music? Opened in 2016, the Elbphilharmonie is an internationally-renowned concert hall and important landmark of Hamburg. With its striking arched roof, the “Elphi” has already become a significant part of the Hamburg cityscape. Its brick foundation conveys the contrast between the past and present.

A mere stone’s throw away from the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt warehouse district beckons you to browse its old warehouses full of tobacco, rugs, coffee and spices. It includes the Miniature Wonderland, a collection of detailed, lovingly hand-crafted model landscapes that is visited by thousands of tourists every year.

Our affordable Design Hotel Hamburg am Michel is situated right next to Hamburg’s most significant historical landmark: St Michael's Church.
