We always have a brilliant time at Motel One. We can never get the tv working properly, but, that in no way makes our stay anything but excellent.
I had a very good stay! However, our room got pretty warm at night
Friendly and helpful staff. Good room for the price, very comfy bed. Great location. No faults.
Location is the magnet to my using this hotel
Excellent all round
Excellent stay. My first time with Motel One and can't wait to stay again. Beautiful decor, really clean, really comfy beds and such helpful accommodating staff.
The hotel is located very close to the central station of Glasgow. A Very comfortable room. Well laid out making good use of the space. Easy check in, friendly and helpful staff. I will return again.
A really nice motel one (I've stayed here before) with good size rooms and in a really great location right near the station. The view from our 12th floor room was incredible, staff were lovely and the hotel is well kept with a nice lobby area. Tea and coffee in the room replenished. A bit annoying that it's hard to book with a kid via an extra phonecall.
I thought it was a nice hotel and was clean . I booked a superior room and it wasn't as big as I thought , I also only had one chair in the room after paying extra for the superior room. I went to reception to see if I could get an extra chair but they couldn't accommodate me which was disappointing as I had payed extra.
Good location, clean and well maintained, friendly staff
Unfortunately the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working which made it too hot to sleep, being on the main road in Glasgow meant we couldn’t keep the windows open due to the noise
Always a great stay here and a great location for me as very close to the train station
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the room was like an oven. We tried turning the thermostat down but to no avail, so we didn't have a great sleep. We opened the windows but the noise of traffic was too loud .
Great value, great location, friendly staff Not a fan of your online check in. It asked for city of issue of my passport, which is not on my passport. I received some email information after checking in that was in German, which I do not speak or read.
Emma on reception was amazing super helpful
Couldn’t really fault anything
Once again, a lovely night's sleep with very soft mattress and soft pillows and exceptional treatment from the staff. partner was not keen on the heights ( 11th floor) but I honestly loved it. Just as much a treat the second time. One of these days we will try out the bar but the room was stellar.
Was encouraged to pre pay prior to arrival as due train issues was not arriving before 6pm. I am told this automatically allocates my room which in this case was a room effectively on the ground floor with a window barely 2m from someone’s office desk. Reception seemed unable to comprehend that they could have re-allocated when I arrived given hotel was not full. I know this as I checked on line before raising the issue. This also alerted me to the room rate on line which was less than I paid as a member. I was then upgraded to a disabled access room on an upper floor which had wonderful views but a faint unpleasant odour. No energy to raise this new issue as I needed to get on with my travel plans. Overall disappointing experience from a hotel group I had thus far been very impressed by .
Good location, clean room. Lounge excellent.
Great location, VERY comfortable bed, lovely staff. Not much more you can ask from a hotel!
I love Motel One, primarily for the service from their staff, which is excellent. The rooms are clean, stylish and comfortable with all the bits and pieces you need such as a safe, hairdryer, kettle etc. The beautiful foyer area and bar gives such a great impression when you arrive. Motel One is always my preference when travelling.
Great central location, but didn’t hear trains and surprisingly quiet. Good view from room, comfy bed, friendly and very helpful staff. Clean and modern decor in room with plenty of space in reception and bar. I wouldn’t use this hotel whilst working as there was no desk to sit at.
Great hotel, great location, helpful and well informed staff
I booked a King room and anticipate was charged for a King room, but was placed in a room a little bigger than a shoe box. Not happy
Really good stay, very good location, clean and today and staff are great. Just a bit too warm in the evenings and we struggled to get the air conditioning to work. Staff provided a fan for the second night, so was all good.
Lovely stylish, welcoming and very comfortable. Great views from the high floors!
We had a problem with noise seemingly from the corridor on the first night of our stay and a lovely young lady (she may have been a manager) offered us a different room and suggested we slept there that night and we could stay there if it was acceptable- even offered to help move our belongings that night. We decided to stay in the new room and moved our belongings next morning. Excellent customer service - while we were with friends in the lounge the following evening she stopped and asked if everything was satisfactory. Well done and much appreciated.
A great view from our room.Helpful staff.Close to everything we wanted.Great bef
Clean, quiet, friendly staff, let us book in early after an overnight flight.
Excellent customer care all round
Very nice, affordable with good amenities. It would have been perfect if you offered room service or somewhere to dine for an evening meal. There was a loud, high pitch tone in the bathroom for a long while after I had a shower, and as I was about to change into my regular clothes once more to go to the reception, it stopped.
Clean, friendly staff, nice rooms would give you a ten if you did a proper breakfast
Stayed many times here but unhappy with a few things. I understand it is a dog friendly hotel but dogs were all over lounge and allowed to sit on your lovely furniture which I think it is not very acceptable. Guests sit on the furniture and some are wearing outfits that they are going out in for the evening. I feel dogs should not be allowed on the furniture.
Lovely modern room with safe and tea and coffee making facilities. Were able to get our room slightly before check in time which was wonderful.
Friendly reception staff, exceptionally clean room and hotel, nice big walk in shower. Very comfy beds with great linen and pillows, good size TV, nice and quiet ensued a good night's sleep, good choices for breakfast. My only criticism is the paper cups in the rooms with sticks instead of spoons.
Hotel great location, staff friendly, breakfast great to start the day I stay every week so that says it all
As always, we enjoyed our stay at Motel One in Glasgow. We requested a lower floor with a view of Hope Street, and the staff happily obliged. The room was spotless and the bar staff and everybody else were pleasant and helpful. The only downside is that there is only one chair in the double rooms. Our stay would be more comfortable if there was a chair each of the people staying in the room. Also, the emails wr received confirming our booking were in German. Other than that, we had a great time and will definitely be back.
Excellent choice for location, price, security. Room didn't have a luggage rack though and the hotel needs to either have laundry facilities or have access to local services.
Great hotel. Great staff. Great bar. Great prices. Very central for everything.
The room was spotless and the bar area has a good selection of cocktails. They make a mean White Russian
Having an area for hanging clothes in two different places seems illogical. As a result, space was lost to have a decent sized bedside table. Bed was extremely comfortable, but the pillows were not so.
Spotlessly clean and comfortable bedroom a little on the small side but Ideal for a short break . Great location near train station and left luggage facilities
Perfect central hotel in Glasgow for a short stay with friendly staff. could not fault it.
more staff downstairs would be better, was at the bar for 10 mins waiting be be served and no one was about.
Great location Nice room Not the best breakfast
Very central location, helpful staff, nicely decorated & good value. The only issue we had was the room was too hot, & if you open the windows it becomes too noisy due to the location.
Very friendly staff was room clean and well kept
Great value, service and wonderful clean room. Second visit I. 4 months.
Head rest needs a good clean between the bed and the headboard. Check in could be a bit more speedy
Room dark, small and very cramped. Few facilities. More like student accommodation,

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!
Railway Romance meets design
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
