I have never been dissatisfied with this hotel.Ideal location, welcoming pleasant staff Comfortable room.
Can't fault this place really. The view from the 11th floor was stunning, the room was small but clean and beautifully decorated and the staff that I dealt with were friendly and went out of their way to help. The only downsides were they didn't have any lager on draught and the fan in the bathroom didn't turn off completely - although I thought the noise would annoy me and it didn't. oh the other annoying thing was that the TV kept going on when i walked past it - ha ha
Lovely Hotel, friendly staff at reception, nice atmosphere in bar area.
Good location, basic but comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, motel one offers good value for money.
A third very comfortable stay at Motel One. However having suffered a shattered pelvis since my last visit I realised I would feel far more secure if there was a grab rail in the shower area. (the towel rail doesn't count!)
Check in was fast and conducted by a very pleasant and welcoming young man.Our room on the second floor was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast the following morning was very good with a wide selection to choose from.
Nice hotel in great location for city centre , staff were great and answered any questions that we had during stay . Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of foods available .
Staff couldn’t be more helpful!
Everything clean tidy and ready for me. Reception polite and efficient.
Very clean,friendly staff,good value
We had a very good weekend break with you.
One of the best nights sleep I’ve had . Room was very quiet and there was everything you needed in the room . I will definitely use them again
Fantastic, friendly service, good price, clean, great location. Overall a super experience.
I stayed in a wheelchair accessible room 239. If I had been staying without my partner the room would have been difficult. We had to move a heavy chair in order to create a big enough space for a turning circle for my wheelchair. I couldn’t reach the hairdryer myself as it had been placed on a high shelf I couldn’t reach. I couldn’t use the kettle myself as there was no plug nearby. The kettle could only reach a plug point by putting it on the floor which I couldn’t do. The accessible rooms ending in 32 are much better but I wasn’t offered one of these on my last 2 stays.
Very good customer care and a very nice hotel
Very Impressed with this hotel, have no complaints.
Great location with efficient staff providing excellent service. Rooms are clean and airy and beds are comfortable.
I booked a night here on a last-minute whim. Booking wasn't as simple as walking in and paying for the room, rather I was advised by a friendly and knowledgeable receptionist to register with MO's website & book there - even though I was standing in reception! But once that was done (reasonably straightforward) they accepted cash which is good. I was asked if I had a preference of floor and requested the highest possible. Got put on 8th which is probably high enough to escape the worst of the noise a main street in Glasgow can offer on a Saturday night. So street noise wasn't the problem, but hotel noise was unfortunately. I got a 'notification' every time a neighbouring room (adjacent or above) used their bathroom. There was also a continuous 'hum' all the while the card was inserted in the power slot so the general noise is the main reason I've given the room a sub-optimal score. The bed was comfy enough but it's two singles stuck together so the 'valley' between them wasn't ideal. This coupled in with the noise and the rather odd selection of pillows meant I did not get a particularly good night's sleep. Finally the shower was disappointing. Spotlessly clean cubicle and abundantly hot water, but barely adequate pressure. I felt I had to walk around to get wet! So overall, not a bad stay as such but the noise issues did spoil the experience somewhat.
Very clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful
Wonderful staff, rooms were great, the lifts all worked, the bar was excellent, and great location.
GREAT SERVICE AND STANDARD OF ACCOMMODATION. DURING MY STAY I FELL, BROKE A WRIST, AND HAD TO VISIT A&E - THE STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONALLY ASSISTING IN ORGANISING A TAXI (AT MIDNIGHT) AND SUBSEQUENT RETURN ARRANGEMENTS. MANY THANKS AND GREAT TO SEE SUCH ATTENTION BEYOND THE NECESSARY.
Lovely hotel
Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good lots of variety of food. Nice and central. We would stop again.
Staff superb clean hotel. Breakfast was ok but required filling up more
Excellent room, friendly staff, very clean
Everything good except the pricing in the bar. £13.50 for 1 white wine because you only had chablis available ? Every single person / table in there had 1 drink and left due to pricing. It was a common complaint and discussed amongst us guest's . Couple of pounds less you would actually have made.more money in the long run. The price required to be paod for a continental breakfast is also high, would normally get a cooked breakfast for that. We would still return though and go elsewhere for breakfast and drinks.
Excellent stay with a fabulous location.
Hi, Excellent customer service has been shown, especially from Euen who worked in the front desk. Please thank him for me as he made me feel welcome and checked me in earlier and have me a bigger room with a desk to study for a week and prepare for my exam. Well done Euen again and your the reason I'm coming back to such a nice hotel.
Love the room clean everythn was spot on.
Handy location, friendly service. Reasonable price.
Lovely hotel and very comfortable beds, my only negative was the cups at the coffee station in the rooms, they only held liquid for about 30 seconds and then the paper cup would leak.
Very polite reception staff, very clean room and good breakfast
I really enjoyed my stay at Motel One. The hotel is in a fantastic location—within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants, which was super convenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. The only small downside was that there wasn't a bin in the main room, only in the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was great! I’d definitely stay here again!
Superb stay and everything was really nice. Clean rooms with nice beds and warm. Friendly staff and after having a night out at a gig coming back to enjoy a nightcap in the bar was just what was needed! Will definitely be back!
Great place to stay, small but compact rooms, have what you need for a night or two stay. Not much room to move about as cramped. Lovely bar area, reception staff spot on. Shame about the bar staff. Location is great.
Staff are amazing. Robert McDougall on reception was so helpful and friendly. The cleaner who cleaned room 138 is an absolute credit to you. Both these members of staff are amazing at their jobs and should be recognised for this. Bar service however was shockingly slow for no reason. In the morning around 12 noon there was nobody at the bar to serve us even coffee or a water and at least 2 of us waited for at least 10 minutes before I had to go to reception to ask for help and the night before it was busy but a young chap in a suit was stood behind the bar just chatting instead of helping to serve customers to avoid them waiting but apart from that it was a great stay so thank you!
Everything was great but I’m now a member of your loyalty club and couldn’t get a late check out. The girl stated it was only complimentary on a Sunday morning and tried to charge £10 an hour when my daughter got it for free next day which wasn’t a Sunday.
Great hotel in a fantastic location. Love the bar.
Clean and spacious room, with comfortable bed. Bar reasonable for a hotel too.
Lovely staff throughout premises, spotlessly clean, safe, quiet and perfect for a city centre stay. No complaints whatsoever.
The hotel was lovely, as always. Nice reception staff and lovely bar area. However, on this occasion, I went to the bar for a glass of prosecco. I have stayed at this hotel many times and I am usually poured a full glass. On this occasion I was poured a 125ml glass. When I said that was literally 4 mouthfuls and could she fill the glass, she poured a further 125ml in it, which still didn't fill the glass and charged me £11.80 which was just ridiculous! I met a friend in the centre of Glasgow in an upmarket bar. We had a bottle of prosecco between us which gave us 3 glasses each; we paid £37.50 for that bottle. Had I have ordered the same amount of glasses in Motel One, it would have cost £70!!! I won't be drinking in this bar again and it has made me reconsider staying here on my next visit to Glasgow! 🤷
Nice hotel nice staff and at a reasonable price. The only small negative is that all email correspondence was in German !
My 3rd stay at Glasgow s Motel One, welcome at reception, my comfortable room and amenities all excellent, will continue to use this hotel for its great value, location and comfort
Staff very welcoming ! Great location , clean all be it small room booked a queen didn’t seem like a queen room disappointed it was only continental breakfast
Beautiful hotel, lovely modern design. Room lovely with everything provided. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Excellent location in the city centre. Overall excellent value for money for a short city break, very comfortable room, bed and shower room. A good and reasonably spacious reception, lounge, bar and restuarant area with pleasant and helpful staff
I have stayed at this hotel many times and this was by far the most disappointing stay I have had. When I checked in I was told the hotel no longer serviced rooms on a daily basis which was always a plus point for me. The hotel is usually really clean but there was evidence of rubbish and dirt that I had not seen before in many of the public areas including reception, lifts and corridors. To top it off, one of my colleagues who I had recommended the hotel to was given a room that hadn't been cleaned! I understand that times are hard but to cut back on an area (cleanliness) that used to stand you apart from some of the other local hotels is a big risk. Hopefully this was a one off and next time I visit (next week) it will be back to usual high standards.
I have stayed at Motel One, Glasgow on a number of occasions now and would highly recommend it. It has a great location, rooms are spotless and the staff very friendly and helpful. City centre is a couple of minutes walk away and parking just a few hundred yards away from the hotel. My go to Hotel in Glasgow!!
I have stayed at Motel One in Glasgow frequently and it is always a great experience. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are always spotless. The only negative is that the email advising on advance online check-in directs you to a site in German (I appreciate it’s a German company).
Fantastic staff room cleanliness great experience overall , only downside was no draft beer at the bar

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!
Railway Romance meets design
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
