Can't really fault it. Very minor gripe, only one bottle of water for a member even though two of us staying.
We had a lovely stay. The staff were All so helpful and friendly. The bed was amazingly comfortable so rested well. Breakfast was varied and fresh. Motel One was well situated 2 stops on Metro to main station where we used the tram to get around and visit museums. And get the train to Zwolle to visit friends
Third time staying at a motel one hotel, spacious room with a good breakfast.Like the concept of these quirky hotels.Easy walking distance to the centre and station.
Lovely, clean hotel with beautiful interior. Great location for convenience (10 min walk to central) & no disturbances at night time. Facilities were slightly lacking e.g no kettle, fridge or iron available in ROOMS, however reception were happy to fill anything I needed downstairs with their kettle :-) Staff were incredibly friendly. I would stay again!
As always, lovely staff and room. Thank you!
Our stay at Motel One was a great stay. Close to city centre and shops Very quite and stress free.
We were greeted by the duty manager when we checked in. A delightful young woman from Northern Ireland originally, called Lisa I think. She informed us we had been upgraded to larger room on the sixth floor. It was very comfortable. The bed was great. We slept well. The bathroom was really clean and well laid out. The shower was great. Everything was sparkling and new. The reception and lobby area on the ground floor is spacious and cozy. The Christmas tree was up and the neighbours cat was busy sleeping in from of it. I highly recommend this hotel. Very cozy and comfy. Great location in Waterlooplein. Very close walking distance to Central including the Red Light District and the maritime museum and wonders of East Amsterdam. Good rate too.
you could supply tea/coffee facilities in the room. the tv channels weren't great and did not have much of a selection.
Nice and relaxing atmosphere, just a 5 minute walk to get into the coffee shops. Nice big windows in rooms so you can get plenty of air in if needed. Bed and toilet up to standard.
Very friendly staff. Accommodation very good. Felt very safe in hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice.
All ok
The room was clean and well laid out, comfy bed and pillows, quality toilet roll and tissues provided. I would have really liked to have tea / coffee in my room though. We made use of the umbrellas from reception. We tried to play backgammon but the games available in the lounge didn't have the right number of pieces for either that or the chess option and there weren't any dice. The app that I'd downloaded before our trip wasn't working properly and I couldn't check in or out or use it's key pass despite uninstalling and reinstalling.
The best hotel in Amsterdam !
Amazing, great staff and great hotel. Don’t think you can find a better example of staff going above and beyond meeting the guest needs. Made our birthday weekend very special.
Superb
My experience was extremely lovely, all the staff were extremely helpful, especially Afonso, Tereza and Joana, for helping us with the language, great suggestions, and the hotel is beautiful and comfortable, the breakfast is great and the hotel is close to many beautiful places, you can do everything on foot. I highly recommend it.
Location was ideal, check in and staff were great, hotel room was cold even with thermostat turned to maximum.
Quiet. Great service and atmosphere. Food and drinks of quality
Great stay, staff were so friendly! Very clean also.
Comfortable but location not convenient
Rooms are too small for a hotel that's not budget friendly.
I choose this hotel because it's close to the opera and because I already stayed in other hotels of the chain, so I had the certainty that I like it's rooms and it's breakfast and that the staff is always friendly. As s matter of fact, it was as I expected it to be. I also liked the fact that metro and tram stations were not far: you can reach the hotel from Amsterdam Centraal. A couple of supermarkets are available in a nearby street.
localization excellent, near the city centre but so far busy areas. The bedroom has good size e good facilities . The Staff very attentive and explains everything. Nice lobby and safe place.
We loved our rooms, the breakfast and the location of this hotel. Also, we were treated wonderfully by every staff member. Regarding the price, we all feel that it was more expensive than it should have been.
For American traveling in Europe, this was a modest hotel. While we missed having a refrigerator and a closet, the hotel was adequate. Be sure to ask for an accommodation on the courtyard rather than streetside … Much less noise! There is no air conditioning, So windows must be open to get a breeze. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Found this hotel to be very nice, new, clean, with a friendly and helpful staff.
Clean and comfortable room with friendly and helpful staff.
Great location, lovely staff, lovely rooms and comfortable beds.
We loved the ambiance, decor, location and uniqueness of the place. Getting used to the economy sized room was difficult with two large suitcases, but it was doable. We got used to no telephone or coffee maker. The bathroom facilities were excellent. We always have to put a towel on the floor of showers for they are never non slip. We enjoyed breakfast one morning of our stay. Good variety of food but one must be agile to get around the crowded tables. Everyone likes to eat a the same time! Staff gave is some good dining recommendations. Now I know what to expect from a Motel One I will be prepared next time, because it is a brand well worth remembering.
Lovely staff - hotel very central & hygiene excellent… Value for money average - €300 per night for bed only is a little steep (double occupancy) …
Very nice hotel , good location and the Brazilian team at the reception are very nice and friendly. They helped a lot. Thanks
We had a great stay - the location was good, room was very nice, and the staff were lovely, really enjoyed it and would absolutely stay again.
Brilliant hotel great staff ideal location
Lovely friendly staff on reception to welcome and book in. Nice bar area to have breakfast or a drink during the day/evening (plenty of seating). All staff were lovely and friendly in the hotel. The room was clean and fresh. Loved having separate duvets on the double bed and the bed itself was comfortable. A short walk from the Metro station and just a short walk to cafes/bars/restaurants. Would definitely stay again as it was good value and a great location.
Staff very friendly,breakfast lovely.
Great place to stay in Amsterdam! Clean room, spacious and comfortable. 10 minutes walk into the centre and a train station 5 minutes walk away. My only things would be if there could be a smart TV in the room and a kettle with tea/ coffee facilities. But apart from that we enjoyed our stay!
The room was well organised with enough room for 2 large suitcases. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The staff were very efficient and really helpful. I really enjoyed my stay
Clean room....I think it was the larger category room, but it was still a small room. -No mini fridge in the room -No coffee maker in the room I travel alot and come to expect those two amenities in every hotel room in 2024.
Excellent clean and tidy property with attentive staff. Ideal location just a relatively short walk from Amsterdam centre.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Good location.
Great location. We had a good stay but our room was a bit small even for two nights. That being said the hotel offered an extensive continental breakfast and the staff went above and beyond to help.
Excellent location, staff very helpful, really nice hotel.
It was an amazing destination for touristical walking. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was like always excellent! The receptionist named Muhammed was helpful. Thanks for everything hope to see you next travel!
Bedroom was comfortable and breakfast was great. Location is not super central, but there’s a metro station a few blocks away. Bedroom carpet could be renewed once it looked a bit warned out and with some stain spots.
Comfortable stay. Good room and breakfast. We had an issue with ouf access keys and we were locked out of the room and we were informed that our reservation “disappeared” in the system due to an error. After a while it was fixed and they enabled the keys. But it caused a discomfort and insecurity.
Stayed here for 2 nights for my boyfriends birthday, free complimentary upgrade.. room was very spacious with a front view. Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly nothing was too much of a bother. The hotel is about a 15 mins walk from both Amsterdam main square and the central station. When we return to Amsterdam, we will be rebooking Motel One-Waterlooplein
The hotel was just what we needed. It was in a good location, bed was comfortable, great breakfast available and the staff was outstanding. We arrived early and luckily our room was ready. After an all night flight that was just what we needed. Tiage checked us in and answered all our questions. He was very patient. Later we were extremely confused trying to use public transportation and he asked a few questions and helped us get right where we needed to be. It’s not to often you find this kind of customer service. Pedro and the gentlemen at the restaurant were also good. Great experience.
Great hotel, always conveniently located to places easily to walk to. Clean, nice and comfortable.
Excellent stay and great hospitality with nice behaviour from front office
The hotel is fine. The team was polite ,helpful and efficient . I would expect more for the money. Second point was the breakfast. Loaded with people, we couldn’t find a place to eat.

Upcycling perfected
Inspired by the nearby Waterlooplein Platz and its popular flea market, the design concept of the Motel One Amsterdam – Waterlooplein draws heavily on the idea of upcycling. The One Lounge of our design hotel was created with the help of internationally renowned artist Piet Hein Eek and demonstrates how antiques and used items can be combined to establish a whole new character. Featuring walls covered with old windows, doors and cabinets, chandeliers that have been assembled from lights purchased at flea markets, and a fantastic workbench with specially created table lamps, the lounge is sure to spark your creativity and invite you to linger. Our motto: perfectly imperfect!
Even Rembrandt himself would have felt at home in our cosy box-spring beds, with linens made of 100% Egyptian cotton.
The famous Dutch artist lived a stone’s throw away from the design hotel in the Rembrandt House, and his style of contrasting light and shadows can now be seen in the One Lounge. Natural and handcrafted materials round off the design concept of the affordable Motel One Amsterdam – Waterlooplein. You can expect to enjoy the usual healthy organic breakfast, free WiFi and friendly service during your stay in Amsterdam.
Want to explore the city? Our design hotel is situated directly in the city centre, just around the corner from the National Opera & Ballet and the Rembrandt House Museum.
