Brilliant all round. Only thing stopping a 10/10 is the breakfast option
Excellent location with a lovely bar area. Room was cold & no heating but as soon as we told reception they gave us an electric fab heater that worked great. Only a continental style breakfast on offer but I would defo stay here again. All staff we encountered were very polite & friendly.
Staff member was very friendly and polite when checking in. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We had a drink in the bar before turning in each night and both staff members were friendly, especially the guy in the second night. Nothing negative to mention. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful hotel, staff were lovely, they even emailed me to say I’d left my new bottle of perfume and that they would keep it for me until I can get back to pick it up so Thankyou
The FOH staff were very friendly. However, the room was unclean. The breakfast was not very good value.
I feel that you get what you pay for. This is a low cost hotel so the rooms are relatively small and basic but they are clean and well maintained.

We were on our usual New Years celebrations in Newcastle, this will be our third stay in your lovely hotel, we have always found the staff very helpful and polite, and the rooms comfortable. We also really appreciate the overall decor and the well situated location, upon arrival on 28th December we were shown to her room but unfortunately both being light sleepers the noise from what we believed to be an air con unit and the lack of natural light made this room not to our liking. We expressed this with to the receptionist and was greeted with helpful and sympathetic reply which we appreciated, a new room for us was allocated which was much quieter and brighter. We dropped our cases and went out for dinner, and didn’t return until later that evening. On arrival back to our room although we had both noticed a couple of marks on the wall next to the bed, and also some drip marks as well, but went to bed and decided we would raise our concerns about the cleanliness in the morning. On waking with fresh eyes it became more clear that it appeared to be some kind of bodily fluids on the wall possibly saliva, blood and bogies. Which in honesty is disgusting, and completely unacceptable, upon closer inspection we found drip marks on the window sill that also had been missed, which I must admit made us both feel quite sick, and somewhat let down.we decided we would contact reception on our way down after we had had our morning coffee, so imagine our dismay and disgust when lifting the paper cup cover there was clearly lipstick around the cup which clearly indicates they had been used previously and not checked and replenished. We decided to go down at this point and speak to reception, we made our complaint which was received well, again were offered a room change which was appreciated but having only one night stay left we agreed that providing the room be cleaned properly this time that we would be happy to stay. We left the hotel and went into town in hope that our concerns had been acted on, but on return although the room had been cleaned, beds made, cups replaced the filth on the wall and window sill still remained, I feel we’ve been very fair with how we had handled it, having not really made a fuss and kept the whole situation low key, but this really clearly didn’t help us as for whatever reason we were made to sleep in a dirty room twice. On departure we really didn’t want to leave on a bad note and we have only just returned from our travels, which is why it’s taken this long to give our feedback, I should say we obviously do have photographic evidence of said issues that we would be more than happy to provide. Very comfortable beds spaceish and very clean staff very polite and happy to help
Staff were friendly and upgraded our room as the booked one wasn’t quite ready. However, the room was cool and fan would only blow cool air so we didn’t turn on after discovering this. It was a king size bed which although comfy, had a bottom sheet (and mattress protector) that was more a double size so didn’t fit. It was only for one night therefore not worth bothering staff with but would suggest that king sized sheets (and mattress protector) are used on king beds to make it a more comfortable night. Lovely fluffy towels but shower was fixed temperature which I understand but when room is cool and temperatures were literally freezing outside, it would have been nicer to increase the heat of the water for a couple if minutes. Room was clean and tea/coffee available if needed. Unfortunately, there were a small number of guests who, on returning in the early hours , proceeded to run around the corridors, shouting, banging doors and returning to knock loudly on friends doors. Staff did tackle them and addressed this bad behaviour, which can’t have been pleasant for the staff, and the guilty parties quietened down around 5am. Thanks go to the staff for dealing with this. Overall, we took a chance staying in a city centre hotel on a Saturday night and just wish other guests would be more respectful and not behave like 12 year olds, but it could have happened anywhere.
Unbelievable value for money on a Saturday night. The rate was set at £59 room only, considering this hotel can be £159 on a saturday night. Very friendly welcome from attentive staff, any questions were happily answered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed my stay - only one night, but the room was clean and well furbished. Was given room in the quieter section. Did not have breakfast but did notice that the cold meat and cheese tray was not covered - maybe rectify that? Also children running round in the bar disturbing others - might need to rectify that, too!
Booked this lovley hotel in the middle of town, side street to the big market, clean, cosy, comfortable beds, hairdryer in the room which was powerful, tea, coffee making facilities in the room, flat screen tv on the wall,black out curtains, usb charging ports next to the bed, hotel was very quiet, no noise from any pubs, its was great value for money, bottle of water voucher and the bottles were glass and huge, we would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone who is visiting Newcastle, close to eldon square also, I signed up to be a member which is free on their website,this can get you a free breakfast for one, 3pm check out on a Sunday, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Love the entrance first impression, beautiful lobby. lounge and bar! Extremely friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Love the location, so close to the Grainger Market and many other restaurants and bars. My new favourite hotel in Newcastle!

On arrival greated by lovely friendly staff Hotel modern and clean with a nice atmosphere Room was spotless with a lovely comfy bed Everything you need including plenty of coat hangers We didn't have the breakfast but what we saw on offer looked lovely and fresh Highly recommend this hotel and we will stay again for sure 😊 Bar area very relaxed and stays open late .

Perfect City Hotel. Because of the price and based on past experience in other hotels in this price range, we expected basic facilities and style. Wow, did we get a shock. This is a beautiful boutique hotel, beautifully decorated, stylish, modern and exceptionally clean. The room wasn't huge but the bed was so comfortable we slept like babies. En suite was small but it was clean, stylish and the shower was brilliant. Continental breakfast had a brilliant choice of fresh local produce, it was delicious. Every time we need to stay overnight in Newcastle, we will choose to stay here. Staff were helpful and so friendly. Highly Recommended.
Everything was lovely
First night was fine but the second night was awful drunk woman screaming and shouting at 1.15am still at it 3am.Had breakfast wasn’t very good warm juice not chilled, very dry hard cheese warm sat on the side with the slices of meat,coffee from the machine was Luke warm

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and we keep coming back the rooms are comfortable and clean the bar is lovely it’s central for whatever you want to do in Newcastle

Great reception, great location right in the centre to our event @ City Hall. Room was adequate, comfy bed, great shower , controllable heating. Bar open late in hotel till 3am for nightcap, is excellent.
Amazing reception area and very friendly staff. Only small things I’d like from the room would be USB charger sockets in the plugs by the bed, lights by the bed which work and on separate switches to main light and a bed side table.
Great location and price. The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. Security in the evenings is excellent too.
Lovely welcome in reception. Looks fabulous. Room was lovely no real issues. Rather large stain on csrpet but things csnt be helped and didnt affect ourvstay. Only issue we did have was no hot water for shower. There was hot water in the sink but not the shower. Location was excellent

There was no information on WiFi password in the room, it just said free WiFi in lounge area and paper cups were single use and leaked. Otherwise lovely hotel lovely friendly staff and perfect location.will definitely be back, my new favourite place to stay in Newcastle.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms Location superb. Cleaned rooms each day we stayed and nice note left on bed from Mel saying it was cleaned. Nice touch.
Unfortunately, the shower would not provide continuous hot water. We reported this issue to reception and a couple of staff came to our room and informed us that they had sorted the issue out. When I tried to use the shower again it ran cold after about 20 seconds. As we left the hotel to go out for the evening, we reported the issue to reception. When we returned to the hotel we were allocated a new room and given a complimentary drinks voucher each. Whilst it was a little inconvenient, the hotel staff did an admirable job and we appreciated all of the staff’s efforts.

Absolutely amazing . I have been to motel one in the past a while back, but thought I would book again and I must say i believe this is one of the best hotels around . I booked for a few days over Christmas and nothing was a problem ,I was on my own and the staff could not of been kinder . The room was lovely clean and comfortable and no noise which is unusual but lovely. The breakfast was lovely and the best coffee I went to the bar on my own and was met with kindness and as I use a stick my drink was brought to the table for me .. for many years I have brought my family up from down south to visit and we have gone to a different hotel which was more expensive and and had food day and night but I was not comfortable and it was noisy ..but I will now use motel one every time I need a break or my friends visit .. I give the staff 10/10 for attention , kindness ,understanding ,and nothing Was a problem , my friends are booking in February now and can’t wait this hotel is lovely inside and designed with the customer in mind .. Thank you once again for top class treatment from a women on her own who felt safe and looked after .
Excellent hotel right in the heart of the city. Room was nice and quiet. Bed was so comfortable and the facilities were adequate for our stay. The hotel decor is fabulous , the staff very friendly and helpful. All areas were nice and clean. The bar stays open to 3 am Perfect stay. Well done all
