I love the location and style of the hotel. It’s always relaxed, friendly and has a feeling of energy. The rooms are always comfortable and clean.,I would like a small bottle of water in the room and would much prefer proper cups rather than paper ones.
Excellent - we really enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, bar is lovely and chilled and felt very at home. Literally only tiny thing I noticed was no lock on the bathroom door. I am maybe being silly and there might be a reason for this but I don’t know I just like to lock the door hahahah.
Love this hotel, this was my second stay here but could really do with with a revamp. Room are lovely very comfortable and spotless. On the down side reception and bar area is very tired needs a refresh.
1 nights stay, room was just as required and not too expensive, continental breakfast was adequate but overall perfect for central Edinburgh.
A great hotel, centrally located, near the Royal Mile and Princes Street. We had a room with a view, which I'd recommend booking (The tea and coffee facilities were okay but not fantastic - real cups would have been better) Check-in was so friendly,as were the staff. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Recommended.

Tripped coming out of Waverley Station and landed in hotel Thats how close it is Beautiful hotel And great VFM Staff were fantastic and we were given a free upgrade with a spectacular view Will definitely use again No complaints what so ever 10/10

Staff was extremely nice and friendly. This was my third stay at Motel One and I'm always very satisfied. One tiny point of feedback: the bathroom door was slamming itself shut quite violently (room 3.51). Perhaps this could be fixed :)
Room was too hot when checking in. Temperature control is not specific to individual rooms so just turned it off all together and kept windows open.
The downstairs toilets were disgusting. Waiting for our train after checking out, having a drink in the bar we used the toilets before we left! Otherwise I would have given a 10.
very good stay as usual only thing we arrived after 3pm and the room was still not ready so had to go out before unpacking ,also top shelf of hanging area had been overlooked ,not only a little dusty but pair of ladies underwear was left there ,

Love this hotel. Its location is amazing, the atmosphere in reception is lovely. I loved this room, the views were incredible. My only downside was that the full length mirror was located in a really dark part of the room and there was no light so you couldn’t really see anything. Also the bathroom towels need to be bigger. BUT we will definitely be back again!

IT was excellent as ever. Only small problem was that there was o bin in the room ad so the cleaners will have had to dispose of thrown away receipts etc.

Very friendly staff , the breakfast is the best we have had , so much choice . Clean rooms & comfortable beds , right in the heart of Edinburgh. This is our second stay in this Hotel & I would & have highly recommend it . You will not be disappointed

Beautiful clean hotel comfortable beds but was disappointed with room with a view. I was expecting many windows but had one small window that was quite high up.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel, this is the second time we have stayed here, the location is perfect and one of the reasons we decided to go back to it. It is a five minute walk from both the Christmas markets and the Royal Mile, leading up to Edinburgh Castle. We flew to Edinburgh and caught the tram into the city centre, the hotel is only a five minute walk from the St Andrews tram stop. The staff were welcoming on arrival, check in was swift and we were soon in the room. The room, whilst a little tight was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a three night stay. The continental breakfast was delicious with plenty of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt and toast to choose from. The bar area was well stocked with a good range of drinks on offer, a little expensive but no more than we would expect in a hotel bar, a variety of seating/tables were available, and it was popular with guests. All in all a good experience and we will go back to the same hotel when we return to Edinburgh in a few years.

room was cold and with a smell of smoke in it. hairdryer was broken . no socket in the bathroom for shaver
Comfortable and wonderful view.
Lovely room and the breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. The only negative was the fact that my room was not ready at the check in time which was very frustrating at the end of a 10 hour journey.
Reception staff were excellent. Room comfy and good value for money and great central location. Would definitely stay again.
2nd Stay at this hotel. It is the perfect location for Xmas markets, access to train station and the Royal Mile. Only issue we had is the room location. We stayed in room 206 which is just off the reception and looks onto the street - room is very noisy . Another issue is from 6 am the constant banging of the cleaners trolley and the background music playing in the lobby or kitchens ( never did figure out from where ) - this had been mentioned on other reviews and needs sorted. I will stay here again but I will ensure I stay on a higher floor - avoid level 2 .
Great location on edgeof the old town and convenient for everywhere. The staff are great and the facilities ok but the lounge seating is starting to get a bit tired and could stand replacing. I've knocked apoint off as but we couldn't get a problem with the room tv fixed in the week we were there. I would still recommend the hotel to anyone and will stay there next time we go to Edinburgh
Washcloths in bathrooms. A laundry service. A few more amenities. More tv channels. Otherwise very good.
Great location and staff on reception were super helpful. Especially liked the offer of holding our bags securely without us even asking.

This was an amazing motel in a very convenient location. We were centralized for everything. The room was a perfect size for us. Beds were so comfortable. The breakfast had plenty to choose from to eat. Staff was very helpful and friendly. One thing which could have been better was the room was too warm even for the cooler weather. We were able to open our window a bit and that helped. I would still stay there again.
No conditioner in shower, complimentary water would be nice.
a really nice hotel in all areas. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The service is available at any time and always strives to provide the best - dealing with the guest is a wonderful experience - full of respect and attention. That was really a pleasure

room was to compact and their was no window to open to let fresh air in, the air-conditioning didn’t work, room was to small to move about! the location is one of the best locations you can ask for highly recommend, front of house staff very professional and welcoming, very close to train station and christmas markets, excellent cleanliness levels
Good hotel good location
Hotel was in a great location and my request for a room with a view was met. Reception was friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and minimal noise from outside which given the location was great. Only downside was size of towels and the placing of the toilet role holder which would've been better on the other side of the toilet where there was more room.
It was ok. Having stayed there before I knew the location was fantastic which is why I wanted to stay again. This time though I felt what we paid for the room (over €800) was absolutely not worth what we got. Our room was average at best. It was really dark by the mirror/wardrobe area as there was no light which made it difficult to see when getting ready. I had to keep using my phone torch when getting my things out from the storage area to be able to see. It was really small which we expected, but it was even smaller than last time. For a 3 night stay I think it would be nice to give a slightly bigger room like last time. It was clean and the bathroom was perfect but overall it was missing a couple of finishing touches and I think if you pay over €800 for a room for 3 nights you would expect a lot more than what we got. A bit disappointing overall and I think we could’ve got a lot better for what we paid somewhere else. I understand it’s Christmas and it’s busy, I understand we agreed to the price, we were happy to pay it for the location but I just don’t think it met my expectations.
Hotel room was very clean, and the lounge very comfortable with a bar and many comfortable seats. Perfect location to catch the bus or tram and in the middle of all attractions. Highly recommended.
Dobré ubytování, jen dveře do koupelny nešly pořádně zavřít. Na druhou stranu čisto, příjemná obsluha, skvělá poloha, dobrá snídaně.

Pokud vás ale spíše láká dobrá whisky, přijdete si na své v našem baru. Tady se lahve nejen vyprazdňují, ale především také obdivují: Světelný strop nad barovým pultem se skládá z 50 karaf na whisky a je opravdovou pastvou pro oči.
